I am still puzzled by all of the endgame threads that get started about every MMO. What do you people expect endgame to be, a real life simulator? We already have one of those.
It's a game, a time waster/leisure activity, not a full time job.
And in my opinion, the endgame argument is harder to define for GW2, because to me, endgame started at level 1. I say that because I am doing the same things now at 80 that I did at 1.
So my question to the OP is, "What do you want in endgame? "
Because I think your time would be better suited to looking for a title that delivers what you want instead of buying a game that does not promise what you want...and then acting surprised when it doesn't happen.
It was in pretty rough shape before I uninstalled.
It was easily the worst balanced BG style Pvp I had played in an mmo.
To top it off you got lots of 1v1, 1v2 matchups. Overall it left a very poor impression.
Atlan99, still here? Amazing how many threads you respond too when you clearly hate the game. I can think of MANY MMO's that had far worse balance from release than GW2 (WOW, AOC etc). Come on you can do better than that. The balance between classes is pretty damn good for a 3 week old game. No class is over the top OP.
I feel someone has hold Arenanet accountable for some of the gaffes they have made thus far.
Too many people seem to be willing to give them a free pass for being "the plucky underdog". Which considering they are owned by NcSoft, is a tad out of touch with reality.

There are a couple of milion people out there at least that would disagree with you so I would say, your wrong, gear grinding and raiding is without out a doubt meaningful endgame to a large number of players. But your last sentence is kind of borked so you might be saying the opposite thing, I am honestly not sure.I said IMO. Yup I know millions of the WOW generation like the gear grind, I just never saw the fun in that. I'm not AGAINST gear grind, as long as it's kept completely seperate from PVP (includes WvWvW in GW2). Gear grind and raiding did not start with WoW. If you have nothing against then you wouldn't have said that it has never been meaningful.Nope but it brought it to the extreme. Now everything has to revolve around gear. Still not true.
Was WoW your first MMO? There was gear grinding and raiding before WoW you know.

DAOC was my first MMO. Can't remember chasing gear in that game, sure gear played a bigger role than in GW2 but what I remember is the large scale PVP and amazing immersive world.
I played WOW for 3 months, gear grind, cartoon style graphics and a lackluster combat system made me trash that crap fast. I'm not much for PVE though so that made it really hard for me to like that game.

Competitive PvP but sadly, is not in the game.
+1
And people just uninstall the game and can't wait a month or two for competitive pvp. They already said ladder etc will be implemeted soon. There must be some other reason, you could just leave the game alone until they implement that. Or you play sPVP to get ready for it, you can't seriously have reach the skill cap on your char?

What u mean with ¨skill cap¨? all you need to play Spvp is a level 1 char, and ¨soon¨ could be 6 months for a B2P game.
Originally posted by prpshrt I expected more level 80 content. There is like 1 level 80 zone. While that zone is fun to explore it's only one zone. They should open up the crystal desert, ring of fire isles, and magumma wastes IMO.
A huge facepalm.

I'm not afraid to tell trolls what they [need] to hear, even if that means for me to have an forced absence afterwards.
P2P LOGIC = If it's P2P it means longevity, overall better game, and THE BEST SUPPORT EVER!!!!!(Which has been rinsed and repeated about a thousand times)
Common Sense Logic = P2P logic is no better than F2P Logic.

I mean can you utilize your class to it's full potential? I already know the answer. The incentive for me too play is that I still have alot to learn about my thief and I continue too improve daily. Once ladders is implemented I will be paired with ppl of equal skill. I don't care about PVP levels or flashy looking gear, I play because it's fun and challengeing.

My point is discussions like these are rather pointless. Any mmo that you personally enjoy, will always have plenty of content. Because you have an open mind to something you like, and will see the same things others see in things they like.

i am past the point where i expect things from MMOs.
what i expected was the same thing as in GW1.
pure pvp grind as usual.
fun WvWvW with reasonable queues ...
I'm actually not bitter though. Just a little disappointed with WvWvW as a whole.
same here....I came here for the WvW and sPvP over other reasons.

I expected great WvWvW and I got it.
Second only to DAoC's RvR imo.
