Well playing Devil's advocate (since I don't play WoW) if that is true then neither game can be held up as hard to level.

Leveling in Gw2 is extremely quick and easy

I can't even believe these topics.

I just cant see some one playing both games on a launch day. Why would you? Unless the expansion sucked and you realized once your lil panda was out of the starting place you once again had to do the same grind to 85 THEN a new grind to 90. I mean, thats the only reason I could think of anyone just shutting down MoP and then firing up GW2.

Yeah gladly not all of us think like you.

People who are buying MOP are under no illussion regarding the gameplay WOW offers. I am pretty sure Blizzard claimed no where that are abpndoning their old game design..did they?

Fun is a very subjective thing so quite possible that people can play both at launch day since GW2 is so easy to get in and out of

The exodus will only lead to an uninstall of MoP. By far the most "kiddy" content released. I mean I guess it makes sense. It's one of the few mmorpgs an 8 year old can master. (giggle).

For reals though. Has no effect on me. GW2 PvP> All of WoW content. Fact.

    True

As soon as GW2 launched there where groups of players working on fast levelling. Raising 5 levels in WoW in a few hours?

Players had gone from 0-80 in GW2 in less than a day - This was a definite strategy by organised groups, but I did also start to see several lvl 80's in the first week.

Never been one for the fastest levelling race. Maybe it's old school thinking, but I base a game's success on the enjoyment it provides for me.

No it doesn't take time to level in GW2. Anet has purposely made leveling in GW2 easy. That is the way game has been designed. So you flaming WOW for easy leveling is just very ironic.

eh wtf are u on drugs? yes Gw2 takes time to level if u enjoy the game... Wow is like a Firefly and u level to fast in wow.. Gw2 is fun while leveling.. and so what if some people get to 80 in 24 hours? that just mean they have no life at all.. i like taking time leveling cause i dont have a goal to reach.. at all.. my only goal is to get a legendary weapon atm.

I couldn't suffer through leveling a Panda Monk after completing the small starting area.

I hit 90 on my warrior with 3 other people in less than a day.

Cya in two years for the next expansion...

    Playing: Nothing

    Looking forward to: Nothing

So now you are trying to define something as subjective as FUN in terms of leveling? what are the chances that people who are playing WOW are also having fun so they don't feel leveling is a chore?

However, if you followed development of GW2 you would know that Anet has made leveling curve very easy in GW2. It is a fact and not just my opinion. That is how they choose to design their game.

Anyone I know (500 guild members) couldn't care less about MoP. Somebody mentioned MoP asking if it launched yet and nobody was even sure. Ah good laughs on that one.

    Completly agree.

GW2 is designed as a game you can hop in and out of at no monthly cost to yourself. Currently playing this, along with Rift (and looking forward to that expac). Will continue to play both.

As far as expac orders or player numbers for MoP - pfft. People quote figures but how many of these include the complete global userbase - particularly the far east, which this expac leans toward?

WoW more popular in the far east than in the west? May probably come to that, or may already be here. For Blizzard it's all income no matter the shape of the currency.

Hey question for you. How is rift. I've been hearing some really good things about it and have been shopping for my P2P MMO. It's seen several content updates and I don't hear a lot of bad talk about it. Is it worth me trying. I tried it in the beta and it just didn't feel like it was for me. But maybe things have chagned?

Launch day for MoP and it's still behind. Not looking too good I would say.

Those data points end on 9/24/12 for both game.

Neither includes MoP Launch Day" numbers.

    Probably sometime later today.

Personally love levelling in WoW, one of the reasons why i have over 18 chars spread over two realms at various levels. Haven't played GW2 yet, but reading through the forums it seems you have a choice of whether to speed through or take your time and smell the roses, exacly the same choice you have in WoW (even to the point where you can switch off your XP if you want).

On topic, i don't see there being some mass exodus from GW2 to WoW given the different models, some will play more Wow for the next few weeks/months and then switch back to more GW2 instead, it is the magic of choice.

It must be Thursday, i never could get the hang of Thursdays.

looking at todays Xfire numbers, there where about 300 less xifre users  than there was yesterday.  That's about a 3% drop.

This time last week there were 44,185 played. Yesterday 36,490 played. I think it's to early to tell what kind of impact MoP is having. This slide could be all of GW2s doing.

Now if by this time next week we see this slide outside GW2's normal 3-6k (8k thus for this week thus far) less hours played per week, something like 12k there may be cause for pause.

You may want to take a look now at the xfire statistics now.

    I don't know when xfire refreshes their #s for the day, but I see WoW @ 66365 hours vs GW2 @ 36491 @ 8:25AM EST 9/26/12

Why didn't you mention that in GW2 your characters level is lowered to match the level bracket of the area you're in and it adjusts inside areas too?

What you get from quicklevelling to cap is possibility to open your slot skills and traits, that's it. Even if your true level is 80, when you enter the starting area your effective level varies according to the map.

    Does WoW do this?

Personal point of view is, it's fun to explore all the areas because the char is never overpowered to any area. 56% of the world map charted and counting.

It has already been said that those used an exploit to level so fast. Sorry, but that doesn't count.

Note that I don't pretend leveling in GW2 is slow - but you can not use cheaters as a valid reference.

Still takes forever to get in Wvw.

I'm not seeing the mass exodus.

I spoke to a few friends who play  on different servers.  None of them see any type of mass exodus.
