I dont want to sound like a dick, but I dont think the appearance of the site does it justice?
Ever thought of a re-design? I don't know, the forums just look so squished for me, it's a "pain" ):
It's just a thought, please don't bash. Highly unlikely to happen anyway but still!

Theres a site redesign coming.
Watch your thoughts; they become words.
Watch your words; they become actions.
Watch your actions; they become habits.
Watch your habits; they become character.
Watch your character; it becomes your destiny.

I would suggest the entire site could use a redesign. It is a jumbled mess. Simple truly is better.

"I hate to advocate drugs, alcohol, violence, or insanity to anyone, but they've always worked for me."-Hunter S. Thompson
Oh? There's a re-design already coming? That would be lovely!
Is there any kind of preview or date yet?

the following post from thread i linked above the site owner said...
"I think our art wizard Evan is largely done with a new look/feel for MMORPG.com. It should "moderize" things a bit without changing the current flow of the site."
so it might be soonish, no preview that Ive seen so far

I hope the redesign will make things here more to the point.
To me the site looks completely bloated, even when disabling the 4 or 5 advertisements (flash bonanza!) on a normal forum page. Frankly, personally I would just throw away about 80% of the interface elements.
I maintain this List of Sandbox MMORPGs. Please post or send PM for corrections and suggestions.
Probably just merge all the threads into:
The Pub
GW2
Other
Really i think we all would rather see the ridiculous hype rating go.
Personally i like the trending games, however, why not just sort the list as trending, makes it easier to see what games have an active forum.
Anyway, i really hope this redesign addresses the inactive games on the list here. Lots of games died back in 2008 are still here in development with questionable hype ratings. Lots of games clutter the site, i got no issue with browser games, just dont lump them into all the client game, same with MOBA and RTS games and MMO's that are not RPGs...just adds to the clutter.
I remember back in the day where i could see right away that a new client based mmoRPG was on the horizon, it would show up on the list and be exciting to find out about it. Now i find myself losing games that i want to track amongst the clutter...and im constantly clicking on games that i find out are not interesting to me...either they are not mmorpgs or are browser games (god they pump out a new browser game a day it seems)
Really the clutter and the hype meter are two things that need to be addressed. Id rather not have player rating tbh...this sites too mmorpg politically polarized to get any legit rank system going. This is why id rather just see the games ranked based on forum activity...tally up unique visits and factor in the amount of new threads created and posts made within the threads. Rank based on that every two weeks maybe.
This will keep the games people on your site are interested in on top, perhaps add a sidebar with new game entries ect. No more politically polarized hype rating manipulation, no more 200 non rated and non sorted games...just a list showing whats most active...which iroically would be a better way to rate hype than the current hypemeter.
