Should i buy this game or wait for CoV? or maybe both?

Hey. I was wondering if i should buy ths game. I recently played SWG but i quit. I played since december 2003 and every game comes to its end. This game has interested me for a long time and the character customization is what really grabs me. But basically i was wondering if i should get this game and get the feel of it for CoV or just wait for CoV? Or maybe both since it only costs 15$ a month to pla both. Are there any downsides to playing both?

Any help would be great. Thanks!

Buy CoV... and you get 14 days in CoH to try it.

    Totally agree.

The only down side of playing both (upon CoV's release) is CoV will be the new kid on the block.  So chances are CoH will seem a little deserted for a while, with everyone playing with their new toy.

    Ultimately, I'd say buy both.

Depends on what you want, actually.  For example :  I do not intend to participate in the PvP and have no interest in playing a villain and while I am looking forward to visiting many bases, will likely never build one myself so I am sticking with CoH and not investing in CoV UNLESS I have to purchase CoV to get the additional content for CoH.

But if PvP, villainy and the rest is your cup of tea, then I say at least get CoV and if by some chance you see the 'lighter' side of things, purchase CoH at that time and enjoy both.

With the NDA Legal paper now lifted. Avoid CoV. It is almost *exactly* like City of Heroes.
If you do want to get for a feel of CoV, grab CoH.

CoV has updated graphics, a few little more features than CoH. But it is incredibly busted.
All the CoV classes are basically the CoH classes. Aside from 75% of the powersets, only
25% is new. They recycled all the powers from City of Heroes into CoV.

For a while they had extra new melee classes in CoV, but they decided to pull those out for some reason.
Probably, to put them in into a later patch because they were broken.

Not only does CoV not add much to the CoH universe, but the PvP is seriously borked.
Look forward to patches to nerf character imbalances after the release date. Its guaranteed.
Believe what Im saying or not, its really messed up on the Beta Server.

The game is out for release in a little over 2 weeks from now to fix it. Do you think they can get the PvP setup fixed in that time? No way. Incoming character weaking patches incoming! (aka nerf)

More over, the missions in CoV are exactly like City of Heroes. Defeat all, click the glowie thingie.
Mission Complete. Id say about 90% of the missions from CoV come from CoH. 10% is original content.

CoV is nothing more than a modified CoH with re-used classes, different maps, and a broken PvP system.
The computer requirements for CoV are higher than CoHs.

    I can not recommend CoV.

p.s. One class in CoV can kill you in one hit in PvP. Think people are going to like that except the abusers/griefers? PvP is broken and they will never get it done right. Avoid PvP in CoV.

That is utter garbage. CoV has a lot of changes from CoH and the classes play completely different.  Neither have any classes been pulled from beta, its always been Brute, Stalker, Dominator, Mastermind and Corruptor.

Even if there were zero improvements, there is no logical reason to ultimately recommend CoH over CoV (or vica versa).  As Emri stated, its down to if you want to play a hero or villain.  CoV is far from being a train wreck as you are trying to portray.  In fact gameplay wise it has a lot to offer, more so than CoH.  CoH is at some point getting an update to include many of the new game features.

Seriously, anyone who really wants to check comments out should head over to the CoH fourms.  The removal of the NDA is a hot topic and there are plenty of threads.

Believe it or not, it is garbage i believe.

As I said before, try CoH. I think its a better starting area than CoV. But as always, its your choice.

Don't need to believe anything, I've been in CoH since launch day and CoV beta since the first round of invites.

The classes are VERY different... and anyone going into CoV thinking a brute is a tanker and a stalker is a scrapper will die horribly.

    I LOVE Mastermind.

With being able to play both games for the price of one.....i would say go ahead and pick up CoH. Plus if you pick up CoH now, this month will be free then next month when you get CoV....thats another month free::::01::.
