Highlights.

"In reaction to complaints that players felt some activities didn’t feel rewarding enough, after October 22 completing jumping puzzles and mini-dungeons will unlock much better rewards. ArenaNet will also make Guild Wars 2’s Karma resource much easier to obtain, so it’s not necessary to continuously cycle through events to build it up. After the update, running dungeons and completing monthly and daily achievements will also give out Karma."

"To maintain an element of difficulty, moving forward some events will be designed with layers, where certain challenges won’t trigger until the number of players nearby hits a specific threshold. This will be the case for a climactic encounter with a guild of NPCs called Modus Sceleris, members of which will pop up throughout Tyria to harass you. You can eventually find them all grouped together in one spot, and by interacting with them can take on challenges."

"For those who like to hunt around in every corner of Tyria, the Skritt Burglar challenges should be a nice surprise. Occasionally you’ll come across chests that may contain treasure or a Skritt creature with a giant pack on its back. The Skritt will then take off and scurry across the landscape, and, similar to how the treasure goblin works in Diablo III, you’ll need to chase and try to kill him before he escapes. Chasing is a risk, though, because the Burglar will run right through packs of enemies, and if you stop to fight that means he’s only getting further away."

"Aside from outdoor events, ArenaNet is also adding more mini-dungeons and jumping puzzles, some of which will feature new mechanics and enemies. In the Dredgehaunt Cliffs zone you’ll find a mini-dungeon that’s blanketed mostly by darkness and has some cool twists to the gameplay. Another mini-dungeon challenge throws you into an M.C. Escher-esque room of stairways and portals where you need to jump around and experiment with which portal leads where in order to find the path to the exit."

    very nice:)

I angered the clerk in a clothing shop today. She asked me what size I was and I said actual, because I am not to scale. I like vending machines 'cause snacks are better when they fall. If I buy a candy bar at a store, oftentimes, I will drop it... so that it achieves its maximum flavor potential. --Mitch Hedberg

Dungeons now giving Karma is fantastic. The only thing I wonder is how much. Will it be worth it to farm karma through Dungeons if you can run them fast enough?

Very glad they did this though because the only reason I have no run dungeons is because they don't give karma. Now I can go run all the dungeons. Excited!!!!

According to GW2Wiki you'll receive 23.5 x your level worth of Karma for the first completion of the day ( explo mode I guess) and for the next completions on that day you'll receive 9.5 x your lvl. So for a lvl 80 character that would be 1880 karma for the first time and 750 for the other times.

Nice PR Spin, but it does not change the fact that after taking down one of the games iconic dragons, and running up to the impressive treasure chest, the typical rewards found on the average never amount to more than a silver or two.

There are still only two ways to get the best gear (stats and looks), cash shop or grind.  Same old same old.

Looking forward to taking my son out Burglar hunting. :)

Ennymith if someone thinks that way about loot and the game then they shouldn't be playing and therefore not an issue. E.g stop when it no longer feels fun. My gran used to say 'nobody lIkes a misery-guts' I love that one.

    rpg/mmorg history: Dun Darach>Bloodwych>Bards Tale 1-3>Eye of the beholder > Might and Magic 2,3,5 > FFVII> Baldur's Gate 1, 2 > Planescape Torment >Morrowind > WOW > oblivion > LOTR > Guild Wars (1900hrs elementalist) Vanguard. > GW2(1000 elementalist), Wildstar

Now playing GW2, AOW 3, ESO, LOTR, Elite D

since when can you get exotic gear from the cash shop? i only see a couple skins on there that's it.. and found drops already that look better imho than the cash shop skins

Hmm i thought you would go ape shit crazy after reading that 'karma is easier to obtain'. Weren't you just flaming a guy who said karma gain is too low and he doesn't want to spend months to obtaina vanity item.

Good news but only halfway. More Karma is good, but we need better rewards bought from Karma, IMO.  I've seen all the gear on the upper level Karma vendors in Orr and they are UGLY.  Need more variety to make this newly increased Karma gain worthwhile.  Otherwise, nothing has really changed.

Use transmutation stnes and use other lvl 80 skins to look cool. thats is what i did. That ORR heavy armor looks horrible with over sized shoulders and wings coming out of legs and arms.

I normally play archers/rangers, which means I'm used to having my top end gear look like little more than a slightly more ornate version of the crap I started the game with.  I'm enjoying having some variety to the skins in GW2, but a lot of the sets are just ugly. I'm not sure I'd like to go the WOW route and have skyscrapers on each shoulder, but something like the below armor from Vindictus would make me rather happy. :)

You couldn't be more obvious that you don't play the game. The armor sets avaliable on the gem store don't give you stat advantages. There are certainly items that gives exp boosts and other really minor "advantages" but they aren't so appealing you must buy them to enjoy the game. I haven't bought a single thing on the cash store since I started playing, I don't feel like I'm missing out on a thing.

I have so many EXP boosts from chests, etc (I have about 10 of them in storage) why would I buy them.

People who really don't play the game think they understand what is really going on but they are just trolling.
