There is no best race, just take what you like the most and play it.

Flych - 70 Blood Elf Retribution Paladin - Tarren Mill (EU)
Mediocre - 70 Undead Discipline Priest - Tarren Mill (EU)

Night elf rogues look the best.  Night elf starts off with more agility than other race, meaning that they can crit and dodge more.  Human has a racial skill called perception in which they can detect other rogues which is to your advantange to strike someone first.  Human also has increased skills in swords which you are more likely to hit. Gnomes are little and tend to be hard to click when your enemy fights you.

Night elves get +% to dodge as a racial bonus, gnomes also have escpae aritist which is great for getting out of movement imparing affects.

After all this i still made a human rogue, <<---- Duh!image

I would always urge people to be slightly different from the crowd and since u say u r going to be alliance then make a female dwarf rogue.

Think it's probably a fair estimation to say that dwarf rogues are the least played of any rogue/race combo

Undead are the best because they can resist mind-effects, which are good against a priest, warlock or Fury Warrior based builds. Though Rogues already have an advantage over nearly every spellcaster in the game so resistance to mind-spells may not make a world of a difference, but will probably depend on your opponent.

Dwarves are good for Rogue because they get a lot of health (which goes a long way), Find Treasure (A nice rogue-like ability to have when you) and stoneblood, which ends the effect of bleeds and disease conditions. Stoneblood is a must if you plan to pvp if you are up against someone who bleeds you often like another Rogue or a Warrior. Plus, my short-haired Black female dwarf look sweet with goggles on. (I made different skin-shads of dwarves as Rogue, both male and female, but my black female dwarf was the best looking out of them)

Gnomes are good if you don't want to waste your money buying potions to get out of movement impairment conditions and they get a bonus towards daggers making them good dual-dagger rogues. As the other person mention, they are harder to hit by little players.

Humans are okay because their racial ability extra perception is good to use if you KNOW they are Rogue-players in the area. Other it's only useful in PvE when want to sniff out monsters or NPCs that use stealth. They are also good to use for sword and club builds becauuse of their racial affinities with swords and maces.

Night Elves are have ShadowmeNd, which doesn't do much except make it harder for player to see you. Unless you are a master at setting ambushes or you spot another player before he sees you then this is a good racial talent to have, but other than that, you won't be using this racial ability much. The only other reason to be night elf is because you want to take advantage of their high Agility and bonus to dodge. While that maybe a pro, the con is that you'll a lower Stamina. Night Elves are best suited for Assassin/Subtle build.

Orcs are't so good since their racial ability increase their Strength, which isn't as vital as Agility or Stamina. Their racial affinitive with axe doesn't make them a good choice either. Unless you plan to be a glass-fighter build, I wouldn't really consider this race unless you are doing it out of fun or for rp-reason.
