I've played FFXI since the release for PS2 and I have to say the game has really fallen apart. Don't get me wrong, I think Squenix tried really hard, but with the amount of inflation for items it's really hard to people starting out to get anywhere. I can't say I recommend anyone to play the game, I think you're better off playing on a private L2 server and just having fun with that or just waiting for a better, more interactive game comes such as Trials of Ascension.

I occasionally see people saying this, and, frankly, I don't know what the hell they're talking about. I've been playing for about three to four months, and money has never been a real problem for me. Yes, from what I understand, prices have gone up considerably since the game's start, but it's been across the board. You have to spend more money, but you make more money, too. It evens out. The God items are next to impossible to get, but they've always been that way, and they're SUPPOSED to be that way. Outfitting yourself simply nicely is good enough, and not difficult at all. No, nless you devote yourself utterly for a good long time, you won't have Astral Rings, or a Peacock Charm, but you'll manage.
So okay Chris, you've been playing for how long? 3-4 monthes? So that makes you what, 30 if you're lucky because you're just starting out. Have you even see any of the Gods or any of the equipment? I doubt it. I did not talk about getting Kirins Osode for a cheap price not once. Now at level 30 you're not going to have trouble getting equipment if you're not buying the best of the best i.e, Leaping Boots, Peacock Charm, Emperors Hairpin and so on. If you still have your Beestinger from friggin' level 14 then you won't have to worry about money, but if you're teh
In fact, I am exactly level 30 (red mage)--good guess. I don't have astral rings, but I probably could have one if I had scrimped elsewhere...I found other things more important. I do have some nice things...Energy Earrings +1s, Knowledge Rings +1s, a Morion Tathlum, and other stuff. I have a Beestinger (which is level 7, not 14, BTW), but I prefer my Bastokan Dagger--or my Centurion's Sword. Just got a Noble's Bed to do the third Mog Safe quest. Black mage and white mage are both at 20 and I have all my spells. Maybe it does become impossible later on, although that's not what I hear. Very hard, yes, partcularly depending on your jobs (Monks have it very tough, I hear), but if you work you can do it. I'll have to see how much luck I can have with BCNMs; that's what I'm considering for making serious money in the higher levels. But from 1 to 30, I have to say there is not much difficulty at all about money, which disproves your point that it is impossible at all levels and that it is particularly impossible to newcomers.
i have played this game for 1,5 years now i still love it it got a good story line if you love that the combat is pretty easy to handle once you get used to the macro,s making (shortcuts for skills)
the enviroments are exelent and the diversety of creature,s is as big as any mmorpg
it is a bit hard to start of but once you hit 30 youl get used to it and youl get into the game pretty easy tho leveling will always be tough as it should be i advice you to give the game a shot nevver shot is a loss anyways try it you might get hooked like me

The combat system is not turn based but it's still good! And yes i think you should give it a shot if you like the FF serie
is this game free. what kind of combat system does it have?
Its free for 30 days. Then you have a Content ID fee which is 6.26.
Then starting on the 1st of the next month, its 12.95.
I had the game for a while, just took up too much of my time.
So if you have a lot of time, then go ahead.

Same thing here. Like if you want a party you sometimes have to wait 1hour +.. And if you get a good party you really want to stay until disband
