Been Noticing a Trend in MMORPG's

This more about the people who play rather than the game itself. I'm not gonna say what MMORPG I play because I think this might be happening in all of them.

Ok, first you get a group. The group get going and doing stuff and everything is going well. Then someone in the group dings, and right after are like "I need to leave bye." Then you replace him hopefully, and continue. The another person dings and is like "I must leave now, good bye." So you continue and as people ding they quit. WTF. You got your level so screw everyone who helped you? I was mostly wondering if other people had noticed this trend or if they themselves do it maybe you could explain why? Thanks.

In America I have bad teeth. If I lived in England my teeth would be perfect.

I think it's always been like that to be perfectly honest.....I think it's just becoming a more prevalent mindset nowadays.  I don't think I ever had a problem with people leaving groups a few years back for the "I have to go because I dinged" reason as much as I do nowadays. *cough* WoW *cough*

Waiting for something fresh to arrive on the MMO scene...

    thta's the sad truth
It always happened, but it is happening more often now.

It's ok to do so now and then ofcourse, but at least announce it on forehand
("Sorry, been at it for 13 hours already and just want my ding. I'll piss off after that")
    then it's rarely a problem :)

They actually say something to you before going? You lucky b***** ::::06::

Well I guess that people usually try to avoid "annoying situations" like telling somebody they don't like their playing style or that some joke they made was beyond good taste... they rather say... "erm.. i need to go... *log*". I experienced a lot of "conflict" situations, where the easy way (to log, or to quit group without comment) was done, instead of talking out the issue. Eventhough MMORPGs are games that should be fun there are people involved - people with whom you need to communicate in a meaningful way.

wasn't that how it always went.
u spend hrs playing. and wanting to lv.
by the time you ding.. that is wat you want when you've been playing for hrs.
ding then rest. at a peace of mind. or else u went to 90%. dies. and lose exp cuz u didn't ding last night when you have a good group. and now u die and lost % cuz u didn't lv last night..
ppl are hypocrits... they want to lv. so the stay as long as they can in the game. then ding. and leaves.
isn't that wat most players do?

    no

A hah! No courteous 'true' MMO gamer would just get up and abandon everyone just because they earned a lvl. Usually when i play, we all make a pact to help all of us lvl at least once (when we all play forever, or close to a lvl, or low lvl). It makes me so mad when people use a group, which is other people, just to get what they want, and give nothing in return. Grr you people shouldn't play MMO's.

I've never left a group because I dinged, I'd feel to guilty to do something like that.. besides all the lamers that do usually never get invited to a group again.

Maybe it's because they actually have a life and would like to enjoy some of it?!?!

I do agree," in that instant it would be the proper thing to wait until you can replace that player instead of just leaving after a ding".   Like in my case i'm just not one of those players that can be on a game 24/7 cuz of job, kids and other obligations i have.  I am always amazed how many players are on no matter what time i log on to a game, "like they are always on the game".  Seemingly no life!  image

I know when your deep in a difficult dungeon, that can be a pain to replace players but i say as long as they can be respectful and try hang around until replaced with another player, that is fine.
