Worth Trying

I always think of PW to make semi decent games, and me and my friend want to play a new game. Should I give it a shot or is it bad?

Free to play means pay to win.

Its actually pretty good, especially for a themepark F2P game. With that said, it is rather similar to Tera in a lot of ways so if you enjoyed Tera you will most likely enjoy RaiderZ too. If you hated Tera, chances are you will hate Raiderz. Either way, with it being free to play I would reccomend at least trying it out for a few days to see if you enjoy it.

Just as a warning though: Be prepared for goldseller spam flooding the chat as soon as you get into the game. Only beta and theyre already flooding the hell out of the chat.

The best way i can describe the game atm is its "Satisfying-ly Decent" which in simple terms is good. I have read most of the forum stuff in raiderz forum on this site (i know some of them are old) and most of the issues seems to be gear grinding, quest grinding and monster grinding, which i say is only 30-35% true. It's not that grindy, afew days and im alrdy 19 going 20, havent really grinded just did the quests and i got up there.

crafting is simplistic, just get the mats and craft them, most of the good gear you need to kill a big boss. Good part is once you do the quest line that kills the boss you can enter an "Instance" version of the boss which helps with only you and your group will have loot rights to that boss. Also, the boss usually drops multiples of his/her items so gear grinding i rly dont see. i got all of my weps and armors just from 3-4 runs since it keeped droping 2-4 pieces each run and the requirements for the recipies arent absurd either, just one boss item (sometimes 2 if great weapons and staffs) and some mob items that you will eventually get from just questing.

combat IMO is quite good, it involves alot of decision making. You have Stamina that you WILL have to keep an eye on because it will determine how you will preform at all lvls of battles. Fighting head on and wailing at the enemys is the worst strat to do in this game. You NEED to determine whether you should be defensive and wait for openings or go offensively but always be ready to dodge or defend at a moments notice because many of the basic mobs will stun you or use DoTs on you that will give them the edge in battle.

Anyways its still open beta, there will be rooms for improvement coming to make the game even better. So far the moderators and staff for the game are awesome and responsive, which i rly dont see in other games that often. But at the end its all within the hands of the gamers whether this game is good or bad so its all up to you. So far im enjoying my time with it :D

O and to whore myself out abit, ive put up some videos on youtube of my character in some areas if you want to see how the game flow is. check them out, their abit lengthy but im broke so video editing software is not in my possession  :/

Just installed and played a few levels. Safe to say I'll be keeping my eye on this one and logging in occasionally during OBT and learn more about the game. Seems interesting as I was thinking about reupping my TERA sub to polish off the rest of the leveling and check out the changes they've added, but this has more potential I think. I saw some posts about a "grind fest" which I don't mind. Seems the term "grind" is vastly overused and not even close to what it meant back in the earlier days of MMOs so it doesn't intimidate me. Hell...people were complaining that TERA was a grind to max level...

Played: EQ1 (10 Years), Guild Wars, Rift, TERA
Tried: EQ2, Vanguard, Lord of the Rings Online, Dungeons and Dragons Online, Runes of Magic and countless others...
    Currently Playing: GW2
