NDA Breakers Lie?

jeff1032jeff1032 Member Posts: 24

It is very possible they are only telling a half truth (and that there is only 1-2 with a bunch of accounts)

Any game can look like it's had a half-ass job done on it just by turning down the graphics to lowest quality. Also if they are breaking the NDA this game probobly wasn't for them and they hated it...think about all the other hundreds of BETA testers who have not broken the NDA (probobly because they wanted to stay in BETA)

There is alot of speculation on whether or not this game is all the things they say it is, so why not go in with a good heart and find out yourself!

Don't let people who didn't like the game ruin a game that could possibly be great, find out for yourself and give the game a try.

Or wait till after the game is released in November and the NDA is dropped, then see what kind of press it gets . If the game is supposed to be good for years then a few days wait will not matter now will it?

Seems as if the new Stratics guy is concerned over the November release and wishes they would hold off. I wonder if it is a good sign when it seems as if weveryone who has seen the game thinks they should hold off on release.

Go check out what Stormsblade had to say about the November release in this thread

The problem with thier release method is not alot of people will give games second chances.. so if thier hardcore release is garbage people will mark the game down under like Horizons.

Unfinished products in the MMO genre is fine as long as its features endgamish that people have time to work towards.
-but core featuers and promises like housing system should be in release.. you cant boast about a large open world when its a just a mass of land with no building system.
-its going to be boring running around it starting out-

and no you dont start off with a glider or dragon or mount of anytype. they talk about having to earn up to those points.. so travel besides the point to point baloons and dragon carriers will be the only travel sides being on foot.
    ==========

I will not support DnL if they dont take thier game seriously (which it doesnt sound like they are going to).. you cant throw your tests into the wind and hope a low budget release for hardcore fans is going to work
--people want whats promised. they want thier monthly fees to be worth what they are getting--

It seems that when someone doesn't like an MMO they generally want to let everyone know and usually exaggerate to make it look even worse than it actually is. To me EQ2 is crap and I'll never play it but some really like it. Everyone pretty much has to see for themselves.

And the reverse is not true as well. It seems that most who dislike it have experienced it, those who still are in love with the concept are just in love with the devs promises. They have no real experiences on which to base their opinions.

hmm have you a clue how old Stormsblade is? I've talked to Stormsblade plenty on irc. Actually I'm quite surprised that he has suddenly changed his tune. Not to mention disappointed as it is obvious he's done so due to what others have told him. There is very little chance he could actually be in beta given his age. He's not even in secondary school yet! Anyway still I think he's a good kid, though like alot of young people easily led which I think is sad :(

Are you so maive as to think all staff members of the fan sites do not have beta accounts? I bet you think Inferno did not have one also.  Of course there is not a chance that the game is not ready for release yet is there/

Wouldn't it be logically to assume that atleast some die hard fans would break the NDA to defend their game?

From having to lock the NDA violated posts, i found the opposite to be true.

Perhaps those , and I am confident those people must exist, have far more integrity and their word means far more then those who break the NDA to trash the game. I wouldn't for a moment however assume that they by their silence agree with the NDA breakers.

    Here's my take on it.

I don't agree with NDA breakers at all. Anyone who does so is breaking a legal agreement they made with the company in question, and to do so just to flame a game goes a long way in showing that person's maturity level. HOWEVER, I do not neccessarily think that they are all liars in what they say. You just can't be sure, and there's no way to prove it unless you've played yourself.

A question I have for those who call the NDA breakers liars: If someone who was very impressed with the game came here and broke the NDA to post his positive impressions, would you be just as inclined to call him or her a liar?

Well seems to bad news was atleast partially correct. The November release is for LIMITED number and only has tiny part of the world in it.

Thats what I've been saying all along.  Except some people (Birdseed) never knew of this information tharefore quoted everything she could find to disprove what they already said on the #5 audio Pod Cast.

the first words after "settlers of ganareth" on the announcement page say "the world of ganareth will open its doors to you" sounds awfully unlimited to me. I guess we will see though once AD starts answering questions.

Make of it what you will.

    Hi Mel

I have found that most people who break NDA are upset because they dont get personal treatment from the Dev's or They are unhappy with how quickly things are getting done. SO they break the NDA in hopes that the things they blab about get fixed. Usually it doesnt work and the Dev's keeping working on what they want to work on. Only way Stormsblade got in beta is if he played someone elses account or lied about his age on his DNL registration. Besides that guy is nothing but a post count freak, half of what he says is utter crap. I stopped reading his posts so maybe he has changed but I doubt it.

Its not like you have long to wait for the open beta to start. Maybe I will see some of you there.

  • EnigmaEnigma Member UncommonPosts: 11,384

    aye

If he is under 18 then there is only one of two things going on:

    1. He lied about his age in the NDA (NDA's only work if you are 18 years of age or older...being the legal age in which to be sued if it ever came down to that)

    2. He isn't in Beta at all and is merely stirring up trouble

I think it's number 2 personally. If he posts nothing but meaningless posts a lot of the time then the moderators know who he is and knows his age already. He may be a News poster for Stratics but he's still a minor. Minor's arent suppose to be in beta.

Besides, if he did break the NDA they would revoke his beta AND ban him from the forums for breaking two rules. However, he is still there so I think he's just making everything up

He needs to be 18+ to be staffer at Stratics. If he's not 18 yet, then he also lied to me. ;)

People who break the NDA are generally immature people who cannot deal with being equal among testers. By this I mean they want the game a certain way and are not willing to wait for their opinions to be heard or implemented and thusly quit in a fit of adolescence and blather their hatred to whomever will listen.

Sometimes this isn't the case but mature intelligent people who break the NDA are the exception, not the rule.

Negative people are mostly those who either weren't breast fed long enough, craybabies or genuinely disturbed individuals.

Also, judging a game before release is one of the 19 indications of someone who will become a serial killer, along with bedwetting and hurting animals.image

Actually, on the contrary, the November release is open to everyone. The account keys they are selling are for BONUS features in SoG and in DnL when it releases in April. SoG is not limited at all. If you read the answeres to SoG questions on the DnL website, you will find I am right.

  • EnigmaEnigma Member UncommonPosts: 11,384

    you are absolutely right

However, as of today, it'll still remain NDA

    proud of it! ::::02::

just kidding, I am just glad to see someone who has a vast amount of knowledge about NDA's etc. to correct those who flame and troll DnL and even other games. Though many people do try to stop strouse and others from replying with no knowledge they can't stop them, yet a staff member of mmorpg.com with knowledge can at least make them shut up for a bit ::::01:: . I realize that i have been commenting postively to all of En1Gma's posts but it seriously is only because at least he can prove fact for opinion with authority.
