I didn't quit and got my 2nd 50 - Jedi Knight. Glitched Ending. Spoiler.

Well, my original post on quitting is gone form MMORPG.com after reaching about 14 pages mostly with thoughtful commentary. I would have posted this to that thread if it was still up.

Due to a combination of server load stopping my cancelation being processed and venting discussions with my guildies (who are great peeps, btw), I decided to stay on and subscribe. In that time, I have finished my 2nd 50 a Jedi Knight and have raided more. I have some updates.

UPDATES -

Graphics - Still meh textures. Hopefully soon. At least we have something to look forward to.

Operations - Bugs are clearing out. Still some balance issues, but floors reappeared and loots actually dropped in Hard and Nightmare modes for us. Nice progress there - and fast.

PVP - Ilum is "fixed" do is the ability delay to a large extent. Nice progress there.

Account - I had to buy a second copy of the game due to Origin screwing up my key and the slow customer service of fixing it. I could have wait, sure. But it would have meant weeks of not playing. Now I still await a refund of the first game I bought. No progress there.

New bug - BEST bug ---!!!!!

My brother asked me how it is that I have run into so many bugs whereas he has only run into a few lipsync in cutscene or stuck toon bugs.

Well, I have played now for 2 50s and a few others at lower levels - I have put in an astounding more than 2 weeks of hours playing the game lolz. Basically a quarter to a third of the time the game has been live, I have been playing it. Yeah....

Well here is the latest bug ---- And its a fun one for this story-centric game.

You fight and "kill" the emperor. Well, you are supposed to fight and "kill" the emperor.

I was excited. I am a Star Wars nerd. I have a Darth Vader cookie jar, a lego AT AT, a yoda and a storm trooper action figure on my computer desk - among other gentle giant and other nerd items.

Well - I had read Deceived and Revan - I was intrigued by Scourge being my companion after having read Revan. I was into the Jedi Knight story. I was psyched to fight the emperor. I heard it was a tough fight, that my driod would die (SPOILER which would be cool since in the Revan book T7 dies when Revan confronts the emperor. But Scourge wouldn't betray me. I knew it because I am stronger than Revan. I am a Jedi Guardian in SWTOR! All this lead up to me being psyched to take on a really tough solo boss.....

Then...

Then....

Hey, why did that cutscene just end? When do I fight the Emperor. Oh, I must have hit escape. The emperor has a Triangle thingy on his head (not a stupid ! or ? like that other mmo - a cool triangle SWTOR mission thingy). So I go to talk to him, and he is holding his ribs. Looks like he's hurt. Well, these are different lines. Wait. When do I fight him.... Oh. I must choose to save him to go to trial or kill him. I bet I fight him after he stands back up.... Wait. Scourge just told me to run out.... Wait. My map isn't working. Wait... I ... Hey! WTF?

So I go out onto Dromand Kaas and find the terminal to take me back to my ship and yep... it glitched. I am done. Time to be received as the hero of the Republic (the Old Republic... yu know. The cool one) and hailed as the strongest jedi there is - the Jedi'ari, maybe.

And it's over. No fight. Just a glitched cutscene to cutscene mistake after over 100 hours of playing the game up to that moment. After reading 2 books. After all that. No fight.

But I did get a blue level 5 gift to give a companion in the mail after to thank me for my service to the republic....

And I got a pair of orange pants that look just like 90% of the other pants I have had in the game as a Jedi Knight.

I'm actually impressed you made it to lvl 50 on Republic. Too bad you aren't sticking around. I'm sure the other three people still playing Republic are really going to miss you for grouping.

EDIT: Oh so you are sticking around. Well, good news for them I suppose

Did you check the spoilers section for your original thread because if it contained info like this one that's likely where it was moved to. (Soon to be this thread's new home I suspect)

I didn't get that bug, but OH YES I was so pissed just getting some late gear looking EXACTLY like some cheap 50k gear you can buy. After having killed the damn Emperor. That was ultra lame.
