why couldn't they just make this like a flawless version of Mortal Online minus the fool loot pvp? WHY?!?!....it would have been such an awesome game....

I would say that the PVP in Dark Age of Camelot is about the best going.

The WPVP that was originally in WoW was...interesting, although, all too quickly became camp-fests.

What are some examples that you would include in your definition of proper WPVP?

Too many things won't be in at lauch for a game that won't be released any time soon.

Feels like this new trend of releasing new content for a game the same the said game is released.

Any info about how big Cyrodiil will be compared to say, Cyrodiil from Oblivion? I'm assuming it will be much, much smaller.

If it will be as big as in Oblivion and all (most) of it will be Open World PvP I'm going to jizz in my pants right there, right then.

They have said its going to be as big as it was in oblivion, even down to the caves/dungeons. they have also said it has its own PvE too so there will be quest hubs, public dungeons etc aswell as the pvp objectives, so I hope the size is true to the original if not bigger

watch that video.  at 3:12 he talk briefly about Cyrodill.   in other interviews they mention it will be slightly smaller that Oblivion.  But yes,  it's a huge owpvp zone with public dungeons, towns, quests, seige warfare,  npc's, mobs, etc.

If they pull that off, this fact alone will make me at least try TESO.

    We'll see.

if you look under "Related Posts" on the right on that page,  there are quite a few more short videos that go over combat,  mob ai,  and other stuff they plan to do.  they are worth watching imo.

Hate to say I told ya so but..

The liberal use of the words "WIll come after launch" will ruin this game.

You can't "pause" in an MMO, if you want to be able to swap weapons, skills or spells then you need to use a hotbar or something basically similar to bind these actions to different keys.

Hah, yeah, there needs to be a way to handle this, and honestly I think Skyrim does it pretty poorly, being able at any point to pause out to browse your inventory doesn't add  anything it it's gameplay, and the ability to have more than just basic attack, power attack, and 1-2 spells brings  a lot more options, hot bars are nice really, unless you only have a total of 4 attacks.

Originally posted by Siveria Wow, I expected this to be another boring wow clone but its not from looking at these, I just hope the quest lines are better than they were in skyrim, because i'll be honest, all the quest lines in skyrim including dawnguard were total shit compared to the older games quests. Main quest in skyrim might have 1 line of spoken dialog per step and thats it, unlike the older games where each quest actually has a fairly decent story behind it, which is one of the few things skyrim lacked, not to mention the province of skyrim was boring as watching dog shit ferment on the sidewalk to explore since everything looked the exact same. I am so sick of seeing white and grey in skyrim that I just got bored of exploring, every nordic ruin is the exact same, every cave uses the exact same textures.   I also hope stuff like spellmaking will be in the game, cuz lets be honest, base mage in TES games have been pretty shittastic compared to some of the spells players could make in morrowind and oblivion, the loss of the spellcraft system in skyrim really hurt the game hard.

You're disparaging the visuals in Skyrim in favor of Oblivion and Morrowind? That's silly. Morrowind was the "brownest" game that I've ever seen, and Oblivion had more copy/paste dungeons than any game in existence, and it was mainly rolling grasslands outside. I can honestly say that Skyrim is unequivocally superior in terms of the visuals and level design. I'll give you that the story wasn't very interesting, but I didn't think it was any worse than Oblivion's, to be honest. I'm not expecting much out the quests in ESO, but if they can be largely ignored (like in any other Elder Scroll game), then I'd be fine with it. The problem is that in most theme park games, the questing makes up 90% of the content. We'll just have to wait and see.

that's how i feel about it, especially if the points you get from pvp (cant remember what they are called off hand) actually does let you advance your character at end game other than just gear upgrades like Daoc did.

i am sure the pve and leveling up will be fun as it is in most games for me but my concern is always longevity.

this system has potential to keep me playing.

I thinly for its day Morrowind looked good.

But oblivion was meh, a shoddy console port.

Morrowind did look pretty good for its day, and what the modding community has done for it is nothing short of amazing, but the original had a pretty bland color pallet. And even with all of the mods, it doesn't look as good as Skyrim.

What made Oblivion a shoddy console port? If anything Skyrim is more deserving of that title, though it has all of necessary features now. Not to mention that it looks and runs a lot better on the PC than eithr of the consoles.

The fact that it's a DAoC styled 3-way war with realmwide incentives to capture and keep territory really deserves a mention here.

Forget everything else i was interested in about this game. That one feature sealed the deal for me
