Im sure there is a post like this already but I dont really fill like looking for it so here is mine.
PK in this game is a natural part of the upcoming popular sub genra of Zombie survival games, and to an extent adds a level of tension other pvp games just cant offer. Why cant other games offer that tension? Well that because you know at some point you are going to get stabbed in the back or shot in the face from close or long range its just a natural and often occurance in pvp games so you grow to expect it. What pvp does in a game like The War Z is add an element to the already fear factor of not knowing what coming.
Its an element that is fantastic fun and creative...but also annoying as all living hell.
I understand the reprocusions to trusting someone in this game ive been trusted and ive back stabbed and ive trusted and been back stabbed, and those deaths and kills are to me th most excussable means of PK in the game. Its a zombie apocalypse you should only trust people you know. These things add an excitment value. Just the other day i stood at gun point having an actual mexican stand off me pointing a shotgun another pointing a pistol and another with what looked to be an automatic. We were standing in the middle of smallville zombies sourrounding us and each of us had to make a decision to just back off or shoot and the survivor needing to run from the hordes of zombies that would then follow. Alas no one shot and we all walked away quitly with heads in intact and zombies non the wiser. These are the interations that can make this game truly great it was a real choice that the three of us had to make.
The annoying part of the PK system at current, there is no reprocusion other than getting a bandit title. You can sit and just wait by spawn points or if you have a rifle just wait slightly outside of safe zones and pop people who are just trying to get to their inventory. Ive seen people beat another player down even tho is was clear that the victim was un armed and looked to just be getting their character back into the game after the hour respawn timer. The biggest problem i see is people trying to treat this game like its Call of Duty or BattleField and their only objective isnt to survive but just kill other players.
Im glad the company is sticking firm to their disire to keep the PvP and big part of the survival experiance but also hope they work a way out to make it just and benifical in working together as it is killing one another. Ether way I am excited for this game and will be rent my own server just so if the pk is a problem i can take a break from it.

Pretty obvious you don't even play or you would realize how absurd you sound.
I've never been killed by a hacker and have been playing for the last week and abit, it's not "rampant" at all, in fact it's actually pretty fucking rare.

Never seen a hacker, been playing it for a week now.
I have tones of fun playing with friends but when i play alone it's harsh and somewhat boring.
This game looked good to me, but I got to thinking about the open world PK. I'm not going to pay for a game that lets me get killed by bored 12 year olds.
No sale, no how, and no way.
Interesting, you play everyday (and I only began during the week when claims of hackers are most prevailant). Yet I've never encountered one and you seem to think they are around every corner.

I am in mumble with a guy who is playing right now and he lol'd saying the first thing he saw when he loaded in was a message on global of a tele hacker and to get out. certainly not uncommon.

Nobody will debate the existence of them, that much is common knowledge by this point.
Wise up? If you're the one getting smoked by hackers on a regular basis you might want to take your own advice, it's pretty clear you're just bad at this game and want to have someone to lay the blame on, so you chose the most convenient scapegoat (hackers!!!!!!) and went on a forum rant.
I just introduced another friend to the game last night, we scavenged for hours and hours with no problem at all. I think you might want to improve your survival skills, that is the objective of the game, after all.
I'm at the best spawns daily, I'm not scared to go to them like some of you seem to be, it's just a game.

But lets go with the more obvious ones, like when you are in a deep cover position with a sniper miles away covering your team, a hopper logs in...does a 180 scout with nothing but his shotgun, instantly locks onto you and starts shooting at you....yeah real hard to spot those types of hackers, but like you say....they don't really exist....i don't even play the game.....
just what ever, you carry on believing what the hell you want lol. I won't be logging in again until hackers are dealt with and from what I am understanding from this company..this will prob be never.

That's one of the funniest things I've ever heard, I'm logged at the airfield right now, fully geared, carrying a military grade weapon. Some of us aren't frightened of legit PvP and the risk of losing our shit. If hackers were so prevailant, I wouldn't even take half the stuff I'm geared up in out of my bank due to fear of immediate loss.
Using catch phrases like "big up" to try and prove you actually have a point, only serves to prove my own point. Defend a game that a little over a week ago I had nothing but negative things to say about? Yeah, time to inform yourself of the real situation before you end up looking even more foolish than you already do. The difference is I can take the time to step back and see the game for what it is, and the potential it has, and look past the current flaws to come up with an objective viewpoint.
Sorry, but hacking is nowhere near as large scale as you attempt to make it seem. It's a fairly rare occurence, one that is so rare I have yet to experience it after a week of daily play (not my definition of "rampant" and pretty sure nobody elses definition of the word either).
Frankly, it just seems like you got killed repeatedly and are ranting on internet forums trying to draw attention to yourself while you make blatantly false statements to try and hurt the game out of spite.

Just reading people calling eachother names in this thread is sad. Dark Fall or whatever was exactly the same. So much hate. One guy thinks the game is amazing and everyone who doesn't is a noob and bad. The rest think the game is full of hackers...
Very simple...
1) There are live streams of people hacking in this game so you cannot argue that point
2) There are lots of videos of hacking, again, easy to find
I would love a Zombie MMO. Dead Island was a lot of fun, but very limited. Only reason I probably enjoyed that game was because it was single player and no hackers because I was the only person in the game...
Those were the daayss.
In closing I will just point out this last little fact for you. You claim you have not seen any, let me tell you...you HAVE been killed by hackers, they ARE more widespread than you will allow yourself to believe in your rabid defence of a game you are enjoying. I tried to point out how it can be difficult to spot some hackers, an ESP hacker is very hard to detect, given my position with our team i was able to see quite clearly those cases of being sudeny spotted and shot at with no apparent explanation beyond unless they had some form of ESP...hence the god damn name of the hack and yes they were many many more times than you want to believe people use these low key hacks. So i can guarantee you have been killed by hackers....you just don't know it or refuse to aknowledge it.
O.K you have been fortunate not to have a visit by the flying supermen, like i said, give it some more game time, he wil find you. And after the n'th time of being killed with zero chance by these guys you will finaly wipe the haze away from your eyes.
I would also like to say we managed to kill a good few hackers :P boy do they rage.

No, I haven't, and there is nothing factual about your claim.
Stop trying to tell me what I have experienced. I've been killed by survivors a grand total of five times over the course of the last week, and every single encounter I've had so far has been up close and personal, or involved me being legitimately stalked by a player who was on the level and clearly not cheating.
I can identify a hacker just as well as you, not sure why you seem to think you are the only one capable of such a feat.
Tossing around catch phrases like "rabid defense" in an effort to discredit me doesn't make you seem any more informed or credible than I am, nor does it make anyone want to pay attention to what you have to say. I know I'm personally not taking you seriously, and I doubt anyone else who sits on my side of the fence is either.

Yup game is 85% filled with hackers...just got a 2 day key so i can get the hack and kill ppl yesterday...still was boring as fuck...i for one am glad i got my refund! This game is circling the drain and ill be there to say i told you so when it crashes misserbly...my BIGGEST pet peve of this crap fest is the World Bank...hahahah a bank in a apocoliptic zombie world!?!?! YEA RIGHT!!!
Oh and the Devs are currupt with only one thing in there eyes...$....there prob all driving sports cars laughing at the scam they pulled off...im amazed sumone didnt report them to the fraud/scam agengy yet for reselling the same game under a diffrent name...its like if i took a free dodge charger and put chevy logos on it and started selling it as a chevy charger.
P.S i played the game in alpha from the 15th to 31 WITHOUT hacks thank you...was boring then is boring now...kinda sad when hacks wont even make the game fun

However, as clearly stated over and over again in this very thread, nobody ever denied the existence of hackers. It seems to me that your reading comprehension skills are sorely lacking.
