Hi, I know this game isn't very well known among the community, but it truely looks like an amazing game. The developers haven't released much about the in-game features, but very slowly each week they do release something new. I also enjoy chatting with the developers, some of them are very nice people. Anyway I added this post, to start talking about the game, and see what kind of feedback I get from the community here.
The reason I like Spellborn till now and look forward to it, is because it has the most interesting lore, a great looking game world to match it, and music thats being created by the great Jesper Kyd. You can listen to a piece of the music he has created for the game in the Trailer that has recently been released. I am quite sure MMORPG.com has a link to it, so you can find it somewhere around here, incase PM me and I will give you the link. Anyway I hope I will be one of the lucky winners of the contest for a beta account, or else one of the chosen few beta testers by the developers. I must wait to see.
Also, if you want to talk to the community and probably several members of the dev team, check out this channel (#spellborn) on the Quakenet Server. Look forward to chatting with you there, and hope you enjoy the mature community there.
Anyway goodluck to the rest of you who have taken part in the contest and have applied for the beta test.

I just saw the spellborn movie, and I love the graphics style they are going for.
If you have'nt checked out their site yet, now is the time.
The Spellborn Scrolls are a great way to get introduced to the game. Personally I can hardly wait for this game to be released. It seems like it's going to be great fun.
I think that the character classes to choose from are going to be very interesting. The path you choose to follow and the guild association seem to leave alot of various paths to follow.
Aaah......
the pain!!
sorry, the double post was an accident .
Aaah......
the pain!!
I love the art style of the game. I also like the setting of it. The skill system seems pretty cool too.
Thank you all for the kind words. We do our best to make sure that we keep in touch with the community, and while we may not have released as much information as some other games, we do have our reasons. One of the things which has bothered many of the developers in the past has been the release of features which have eventually NOT been present in the game. While that will undoubtedly take place with us as well (some things are removed or modified in testing these monstrous worlds), we did want to make it very clear that what we say about the game *is* a reflection of our virtual reality.
We're making a great game with a ton of features, and we want that to shine through. Further information regarding the game will be released as we continue towards our release in Q2 2006.
Please, if you haven't, stop by www.tcos.com and check things out. There's a lot of information available (even if we do like to play a little "hide and seek") and a great community to take part in.
Kindly,
Mathew "Corwynn Maelstrom" Reuther
Community Manager, The Chronicles of Spellborn
Woah. The community manager lives in a small town not even 10km from where I live. (Mijdrecht)
Amazing. Can I come and interview you on behalf of MMORPG.com sometime?
And keep up the good work.
Hey Corwynn, glad you decided to stop by and drop a post! If I do win the contest (100,000 to 4 chance probably ), look forward to having a beer with you . By the way, you still are an Evil wannabe by my book, your too much of a nice guy
Anyway back to about the game, yeah Corwynn said everything. But I left out some facts. There is a lot of hidden information which is revealed through these passages on the website of The Chronicles of Spellborn. They are called the "Spellborn Scrolls". They are quite fun to read, because it actually allows you to interact (sort of) with the story. You choose the next path, to take in the story...from a selection of what to do choices....you will understand more if you check them out. They will unviel a lot of features such as housing, the types of classes there will be and a great amount of detail about the lore of the game and the game world. Click Here to visit the TCoS website.
Another thing, you have to check out the trailer....here is a link to a choice of where to download it from, courtesy of Gamershell.com. You don't have to register or go into a waiting list, since there are many servers to choose from. If you are European, I suggest you click on the UK server. If American, choose which ever server is free...they are all good. Click Here to go directly to the selection of servers to download the TCoS trailer.
I will be hopefully putting up a gallery of all the screenshots and some of the concept art that is being provided by the developers on a website I will be created which will be dedicated to TCoS. I hope you will look forward to it, and will try to keep it up-to-date as much as possible, but to be honest I am a noob at Web Development.
Anyway glad to have had the privilage of having Corwynn bother to register on MMORPG.com to post something in my topic, and hope more of the MMORPG.com community starts taking an interest in this game. The game does not seem to be very well known here, but I can assure you, till now all feedback has been extremely positive as you can see in the replies, after you read the Spellborn Scrolls on the website, and view the trailer and Screenshots of the game, you may be insterested in following up the game yourself.... atleast I hope you do If you are interested in knowing features however, I suggest you spend a bit of time finding intereviews of TCoS, since not many features are mentioned in the website, because the developers have still not totally decided on all the features that will be in the game. Here is a good resource to find extra information about the game features and many interviews about the game. It is a message board on the official Community Forum, dedicated to interviews, previews and the such that regard TCoS and hold some good information about the game. Click here as a direct link to that message board.
Anyway I will try to add more information to generate some more interest in MMORPG.com, because I do believe this game should have its own message boards dedicated to it in the Games in Development Section Column (to the right), but we can see about that at a later stage. Hope you enjoy what little information I tried to help you find!
One of the best Mmorpg's currently under development.
Developers talk to the community all the time. mIRC is filled with dev's and they act like normal people.
The game has very high potential.
I really suggest everyone checks it out, and signs-up for the beta
Game looks great so far and this is the first game I see the developers actualy participate on the forums.
I have high hopes for this game and cant wait to help test it.
Thing I like most about Spellborn till now is the developer involvement.
They actualy listen to user suggestions instead of pushing their ideas through.
I've been following this game for a while, and its definately going to be a great game. The devs/cm are easy to talk to and chat on the forums and irc. They have great personality, i see this game turning out great, it deserves all the attention it can get.=)
What I like the most about the game, is that it's world seems stuck in some really freaky magical accident. Blown apart, but stuck inside some chaotic magic realm, the world generates an eary feeling as if you might end up falling through the world.
The graphics of the game gives it a serious but non-realistic look, like you would see in a comic with muscled hero's with big white grins. The expressions and art combined with the bright colors makes you feel you just walked into a comic. Which isn't surpricing if you see who's doing the artwork.
I'm looking forward to this game and really hope I get to beta test it... and jump of the shard-ship into the big deadspell void...
The graphics definetly stand out. I'm putting this next to 'Gods and Heroes' on my watch list.
The FAQ could use some elaboration though. It seems a bit bare-bones atm. Or perhaps I'm looking in the wrong place, but normally I learn about classes, races etc. in the FAQ.
...Pika
There is alot of information in there about the different classes and things you can do in-game.
the poster formerly known as melangel :P
Please check out the link below to check out an artical, that includes a lot of brief descriptions from some of the dev team members, and from what interviews I have read, this one has given me the most information about the game. Please check it out and be impressed. One last thing, the website is in a different language but the interview will be in english. Now after you click the link below, you will have a popup block your view of the interview. To get rid of it scroll to the top of the webpage and the X marker (meaning exit) should appear, so click it to get rid of the popup. Then just enjoy reading the interview!
Click here to be taken to the interview mentioned above.
These are 2 of my favourite screenshots.
First one is a PvP duel between 2.
Second is just a cool look at a sample of the scenery you will experience while exploring the world of The Chronicles of Spellborn.
Dont tell me they dont look impressive
What else is there to say about TCoS? it's going to be a fantastic game without a doubt. I suggest everyone check out the forums and irc channel and chat a little My name is Scumfrog in the TCoS community, stop by and say hi
