why play dark&light.

Out of all the MMORPGS that are coming out. now i do not know that much about D&L but this is some of the things i like and have found in another MMORPG.
can you tell me about dark and light? seeing these are the things i like.
will i like Dark and Light?
There is only one that is close to what I want in a MMORPG that i have found.
Now like a few of us I have played lots of MMORPGS
There a few I have not tried. But most I have if I have not I have watched someone play it for hours.
I run an internet gaming café. Yes a cyber café.
I also have been a big fan of D&D seeing there is a Pin and paper D&D shop next door.
But from what I have seen of DDO. Its just not the next MMORPG that I am going to be playing. Too many reasons to list here, and do not want to seem like I am slamming this game.
But the best reason is because of a game that has everything I have been looking for is being made right now.
A friend told me about it and well at first glance I was like man that junk DDO going to kick its but. But again after looking a DDO I was vary upset with it.
Then I set out on a quest to look for the MMORPG that had everything I wanted. I made a list of all the things I wanted in a MMORPG. One I wanted something new. But not just another MMORPG a new type of MMORPG and I found it.
This game has everything I have been looking for almost exactly how I wanted it.
Where players can build castles and cities, and where NPC and other players can attack your castles and cities.
Where there is big open places, and vary few instanced zones.
Where if you brake the law there is a crime and punishment system.
Where there will be different rule sets on different servers to you can pick PVP or NON-PVP, Looting server or a non looting server.
Where if you kill another player on your side of the war you will be hunted by a bounty system that includes NPC and players.
When youre caught for killing or pick pocketing. There will be some jail time served.
In a prison system that still lets you play but just with other player killers. (to give the law abiding players a chance to play the game with out on going grief.)
Most of all a new combat system that. Where you can create combos where you have to really doge the incoming attacks. Where you can not just run through a wall of tanks protecting your casters/archers you have to move around to there flank.
With siege towers and battering rams you build and use to take out the enemies castles.
And all this is going to be in one MMORPG

I think you will probably like this game. The first time I read through your post, I thought you were decribing DnL. Only a few little things were different. I'm not sure if you will like DnL better then AoC, but you should definately give Settlers of Ganereth (DnL's free prelude) a try to see how you like it. It will be out in November.

Sure you will. Just play it while munching popcorn from your cats litter box, drinking a horse radish milkshake, and listening to Gheorghe Zamfir plays the Best of led Zepplin on his pan flute CD at full volume.
I miss DAoC
Their is 3 games on my "next game i will play" list:
Dark and Light, Age of Conan, and Vanguard.
For the announced features, my 1st choice is DnL. I will play it if the Prelude is nice, and if the gfx are good
For the Story and the "dark" gfx, i would choose AoC. I will play it if NP3 (DnL ppl) screw their games and if the PvP rules are something between shadowbane and daoc.
For the quality, my choice could be Vanguard. I will play it if the PvP servers are what i want (looks like the pvp won't be really nice atm) and if my guild want to move on it.
i have been looking in to this DNL game it looks cool so far.
i am all for more PVP in MMORPG's can someone that had read up on what its all about. give me a quick sum of it all.

basically its Faction vs Faction (Dark vs Light), you cant attack players of your same faction unless you do various quests to give you wanted status. The drawback to being wanted is that you can't enter villages without being attacked and you can't own a fortress.
There will also be Fortress pvp (fortress sieges) in this game. It is slightly carebear in the fact that the attacking players have to notify the castle owner of the attack, and allow him a short amount of time to gather his troops from the corners of the earth (defending players will be teleported to their fortress) and gather resources, ammo, that type of stuff.
to the OP: Why post a pro-AoC thread in the DnL forums instead of actually posting it in the right forum?

yeah i think i saw a post EXACTIACLY like this on the off general forum did you just make a post on every forum on how "Awsome" AoC is?

Yep im very disspapoint with the release date but the only thing can make is wait to the SOG to test the game, ill play this prelude and if i dont like the game ill go to vanguard i think

Wow, Jackdog you always have something positive to say that's why I always like your posts. I was being very sarcastic, now to get to the point of al this Don't listen to this ... this... person? Whatever he is just don't, it is so easy to find the negative in anything and so very hard to find the positive and you have heard it here that the positive out weigh the not so positive.

By the way Jackdog why are you even posting, the way you bash everything you must not even play MMORPGs. But out of curiosity, what do you play?

thanks for all your info i might try the open beta.
as for why i posted about AOC well its headed in the diretion i want.
and that is what i want in a MMORPG.
from what i have heard D&L seems like a ok game just not quite what i want.
i will give it a try. maybe they will have more of what i am looking for when there closer to being done.
why ask you here about the game becouse i do not want to spend hours looking in to it. when i can talk to someone that has put the time in to read about it can tell me about it.
i will be willing to do the same i have played a lot of MMORPG's and am now playing some DAOC 14 day free trial to pass the time untell AOC is out or i find something better to play with my spair time.
