Hey all,
I see a lot of people are trying to decide what would they do with their 2000 or so cartel coins if they went back to SWTOR and played as a Free player. To make things easier I created a tool on the web that lets you browse all the items and unlocks available inside the in-game Cartel Market. You can seee the cost and item descriptions just like you do in the game. You can also add items to your "Wishlist" and you will also get total cost in Cartel Coins and USD for all the items in your wishlist. What's more you can share your Wishlist with others in a form of a link, so for example if you are an ex subscriber like me and have a level 50 with Artifact gear and want to get HK-51, but do not want to pay the subscription just yet you will need the following:

If you are a subscriber I would definitly get a lot of legacy unlocks and some cosmetic items

I checked and the data is in line with today's release of Free to Play.

I really hope this fails hard, else it will set a precedent.
There Is Always Hope!
Where have you been? Precdent was already set, SWTOR is just following it.
Honestly, I've been trying to see how much it would cost me to have things that I consider absolutely crucial for playing the game comfortably. IMO you can play the first 50 levels with different classes quite comforatbly for a very low entry price. A few bucks here and there and you will play and not feel being a F2P at all. Seriously - hiding a head slot and equiping companions with cosmetic customizations is rather useless and not game changing (although I agree it smells of creating a terrible precedent). A lot of stuff on that shop is not crucial. Just try finding things that are absolutely necessary and it will cost you onlly a few dollars per month.
Things change at end game. You really need some things if you want to play the end game and honestly - I see no reason to not be a subscriber if you want to experience the end game to its full extent.
In any case - I think the web tool provides a great chance for those able to anlyse stuff to draw some conclusion what Bioware's intention with the Cartel Market is in the long run (beside the obvious monetization).
