Awoken from a 12 month slumber...

*yawn*.

My level 45 cleric has been asleep for a year, and has woken up on Order (with slight amnesia) to find the world has changed. I can't remember where to begin again. Where should I be?

Forum signatures are stupid and annoying. I've turned mine off.

    Welcome back.

You should be reading the community forums, first.  Then, make sure you're on the various popular chat channels in-game.  I'm on Chaos, and the busy places there are Marketplace, Dragon and the player-created and operated New Player Help channel.  Not sure about Order.

Many things have changed.  It may feel like a new game.

Wow!  A vintage whine!  Careful, there, these things are rare these days.  image

Too bad this one didn't come with a link to "The Documents" and "The Whole Story."  Then it's antiquity and irrelevance would be complete.

Explore explore explore -- even regions that were familiar have changed (see Kion/Sslanis).

Go to Bristugo and look where all the Portals lead.

Visit the Vielos at Bristugo to get a feeling of the expert formulas and tech components that are sold there for exorbitant prizes. (grrr)

Several isles with dangerous mobs have surfaced -- find the portals -- but think twice of going there directly -- the mobs are usually lvl60+...

If you look for TierIII mobs, Trandalar is for you. You'll find the portal to that big isle in the tower on the isle north of mahagra. (Trandalar is also fine for TierIII resources).

    welcome back ::::02::

I have my elemental archer (was he lvl 45 or 50? o.O) in slumber ever since 5-6months after release.

Are they still nerfing everyone left and right? Are the dragons still the weakest link? what is the max level now? Does it actually make sense to have your own shop?

I don't play a biped character, so I can't answer the first question.  (Your ELAR now can get an epic ability, though.  Burning Archer.)

Dragons have gotten a lot of love, and are no longer the weakest link.

Max level in any one school is still 100.

Having your own shop is useful, especially if you plan on adding extra structures to your plot.  They save time.

Oh, so they changed the max level. It used to be 55, then 60.

Good to hear about the dragons. It did not make sense for them to be as weak and difficult to play as they were.

And about shops, is it more profitable to own one and sell your wars there, than to consign items at the town merchants?

Also something I forgot to ask before - is the combat lag gone? It used to make me mad when I keep seeing th emob running away, and all of a sudden start geting hit, by it.. then it "teleports" right in front of me. Me and my friends were dying alot due to this nasty bug/lag/whatever you wanna call it.

Then the nerfs.. every other week my class was getting nerfed up to a point where I could not solo effectively at all, or it would take me 4-5 minutes to kill a mob lower level than me.

Game was very much fun right after release and a few weeks after, but then it started becoming worse and worse until I could not play it anymore. :(

portaling lag has been reduced. So after that 5th or 6th port you no longer need to relog to clear the ram the game was not releasing.

However the general lack of decent performance out of the client is still very much an issue. Your example of combat lag still very much exists and won't be remedied till the client is redone from the bottom up.
