I really tried to like the game, I really did, after hearing the hype all across the gaming conventions on how it could be a contender against TERA and C9. I have to say, the developers marketing department did a great job selling the game to the masses, but they didn't put much effort into coding, sound, and basic gameplay mechanics. Short point, it's another shitty F2P game from Korea that PWI happened to pick up.
Tagging of mobs system bugged me, whoever tagged the mob first got the loot, regardless of who was nearby. It made partying up with people useless especially if some people like to tag relentlessly then not contribute anything to the rest of the fight.
Animations weren't as fluid, could be due to the aging game system and timings weren't correct when button pressing even with low ping and latency.
Main killer for me was sound, everything hit sounded like someone banging a trash can lid together. Hear that enough times and you start getting headaches. Music was just a constant loop, there wasn't even any crossfade between tracks. Voiceovers were far and few between and even then didn't immerse you in the game. It's like the actors came in one day with a hangover, said a few lines in a tired drawn out voice and left to go drink their sorrows away for working with such a crap company.
Community in-game is really small, towns were empty, devoid of any human life, English-speakers, etc. Just found more bots and gold seller spam as usual.
Want a better action oriented MMORPG, stick with C9. This game is just a disaster.
Sorry I know you shouldnt compare games of differing styles and cost to make but this game is pretty horrible, even worse then Tera IMO. Logged off and uninstalled after an hours worth of playtime.
I can stomach the bugs, of which there are numerous and the questing although slightly better then Tera's is still bad, especially in this age of GW2's impending release. The game plays like the cheap F2P Asian action game that it is.
*sigh*
Again, really?
I mean seriously, you are turned off by a game in an incomplete closed beta form?
That is not an excuse to stop playing, but a reason to continue to play and create suggestions to make it better.
Just log back into the game, make a list of what you think needs to be changed, and post it on the appropriate section of the forums.
No need as the only way to make the game any good would be to scrap it and start over with GW2 as a model.
Sorry, linear questing and gear threadmills are not for me. To top it off I am not a fan of the Tera/Raiderz combat system. IMO if you go the action combat style then do the hybrid tab target of a GW2 or an Asherons Call. Not having access to my mouse cursor is to much of a shock (and yes I know you can hit shift to bring the cursor up).
GW2 as a model?? Thats just not my type of game. I quite enjoy RaiderZ. I like the combat system (in some respects its more flexible than TERA's). Its graphics (especially the eye candy) aren't as good as TERA's, but its MUCH better armor and gear wise than GW2.
I made it to level 60 (warrior) in GW2 and from 1 to 30 my armor and weapons looked pretty much the same. There are a really limited number of weapon and armor models in GW2. Sure you can dye things. But thats hardly the same.
I ended up going back to the Land of the Panda. I have a level 34 Bezerker and a level 31 Defender in RaiderZ. I plan to stick around and see what happens, when open beta ends.
