IRTH ONLINE IS AN EXCELLENT GAME

I'm posting this thread to dispel any rumours that Irth Online is a less then satsifactory game, or that the Beta Testers are uninterested or unenthusiastic about its development. I personally am a beta tester of Irth Online for 2 months now, and I couldn't have found a better game. The Developers at Magic Hat Software are superb programmers working their asses off to please the ever demanding populous of Irth Online beta testers, and is very quickly growing in members. The Beta Testers themselves are very supportive and helpful, and are incredibly enthusiastic towards Irth Online's development. The Developers are also extrodinary in helping the beta testers through their IRC chat server, and the testers are always willing to help out new players. Irth Online is also, in my opinion, unsurpassable in Gameplay by current Beta Stage mmorpgs, and sometimes likewise in graphics. Indeed, Irth Online has been compared to popular and heavily advertised games such as World of Warcraft, Ultima Online and Harvest Moon. Indeed, Irth Online is also becoming unique in the mmorpg kingdom in terms of available features.

I am a beta tester too
I am loving it, I come from UO and have found my new home here. I have played games like WOW,COH,EQ,DAOC and others, and UO I played the longest and it was my favorite of them all. Irth has renewed that feeling in me. I love the skills, the crafting and the no levels and the graphics. Yes the game is not done yet, but it sure is heading there quickly. The dev interaction is the greatest and the community is great. The Irc channel is full of helpful people 
If the game is not for you please don't bash it, just realize its not done and thats ok 
Totally agreed with both Specusci and Kishe, Irth online is a very open ended game with on par and better graphics then some other betas currently out, and the graphics are always improving. The Devs are some of the most active and player oriented Devs i have ever met and ive beta tested quite a few games. The world maybe big but every day a new patch is coming out to fill in the voids. balancing is still being worked on with combat and spells but i have yet to see a bad patch with Irth online. it doesnt hurt to give this game a shot, you never know perhaps some of your suggestions will be implemented into irth seeing as alot of the player suggestions have been put in already(as long as its reasonable and not some lame azz suggestion)...
Any way ive beta tested for almost 2 months and the game has gone from about 40% complete to about 75% complete, and i believe the devs will finish and put one of the best games out on the market since Everquest and Ultima Online.

It's a shame really since i never got to trying it long enough to form an opinion, it was so laggy for me that i just turned it off.

Yeah this is a really great game. Anyone who thinks it's bad because it's in beta obviously doesn't know what a real mmorpg is. It's not one of your Lineage 2 bullcrap grinders. It pits nations vs. nations or you can do practically whatever you want to do. Woodcrafting, mining, lumberjacking, blacksmithing, adventure, PvP, free housing with addons for costs, player runs towns are soon coming. If you want a great game try this one.
Do the screenshots do the game justice? They look a bit ... mediocre. What about the company? How's the cash flow?
Screenshots don't do the game justice, anything captured 2 patches ago can be considered outdated.
Company is great, the communication between devs and players are something unheard of, the devs listen and there are dozens of features designed through player feedback to proof it...there's like two 200mb patches coming out every week.
This is quite low budget game, mostly because they've managed to safe ernomous sums of money through buying wish's models and they've said their goal is 10 000 players, that's enough to keep them self-sufficient.

i need to update my cpu huh? i have 1gig of ram and a nvidia 6800 and have a 2.8ghz i got this cpu last year its not out of date ty and i run eq2 like nothin yet i cant run this game that good at all some days i ran it real smooth next day its so laggy it unplayable but that was about 2-3months ago and YEA I KNOW ITS BETA BUT comon there servers could perform a lil bit better and im glad yall like the game wish i could find a game i could like

This is because you need to turn shadows down to 1 and turn off names. Also set the viewing distance to about 1000, this made the game go from slug to eagle for me. Try it and see if it doesn't work. You will be amazed at what doing those things will do, the game really is quite impressive and it's open PvP.
Also, sentences are your friend.

I really enjoyed what I played. Had some major graphics problems, I would moce the camera and random things would dissapear. Otherwise, I loved it, graphics are fine in my opinion. Nothing grand, but don't cause lag and look more than fine to me.
I think it's the objective of your past self to make you cringe.
Installing it right now. Hoping that my computer will meet the requirements with all the settings down and shaddows off. If it does Ill be a happy man.

the game is laggy on most computers, its due to a generic engine, but the development team really listens to the testers
i think that with an overhaul of the engine and a complete redoo of the size of the world and level design, and another 3-4 years of open beta this game might pull 2-3k subs
otherwise it will get the 12 people that play it currently in its completely oversized world with its bot-friendly atmosphere
These are all very good points. This game has had some bad press in the past, that honestly was somewhat deserved. But it is quickly turning around and gearing up for launch. There have been patches that work out alot of the bugs and framrate issues.
People dont seem to realise that this was infact a true Beta and had issues because of it. What most people seem to think of as Betas are nothing more than publicity peices that are showing off the release version of games. Alot of companys are perpetuating this trend of releasing a final product as a "Beta" to garner good hype. This company did not do this and they are actully Beta testing it. The devs are working constantly on fixing bugs as soon as they are found.
This has a good pvp system, but at the same time doesnt force you to PvP if you dont want to, it allows you to choose a non-pvp faction if you want to. It is level based which is rare in todays games, I count this as a plus.
I agree this game is turning around, it still needs some work but I am greatly impressed
I am starting to have alot of fun with all the new stuff added.
