It looks like you're new here. If you want to get involved, click one of these buttons!

So how would you feel if...?

They added the following changes into the game.

  1. Remove the need for mid point space stations so that you can land directly into a planet
  2. Increase speeder speeds to 300% for the max levels and add in biological mounts for lv 25 (Tauntaun, etc)
  3. add in Swoop racing and Pazzak with multiplayer leader boards
  4. Add in space races twice a week to know who actually has the fastest ship in the galaxy (or arguably the best pilot)
  5. add in gear reskinning option for full customization. (aka I can make my plate gear look like any other plate skin i currently own)
  6. Add wookie as a playable race (if you want to play a wookie, odds are you dont mind reading the subtitles from the quests)
  7. Tentaive

I can't help but wonder what the hell EA is doing with this game, SWTOR has SOO much potential to be so much more but we are instead left with a shell of what could have been. I think that swtor still has a chance to make a combat, it just need actual people with ideas to tell the devs in what direction they should head in.

I was watching Star Wars Clone Wars a few days ago and it hit me that if Swtor could pull something like that off, it would not be an amazing game, but an amazing experience. Imagine, the graphics are already there, the lightsaber physics are already there as well, all that needs to happen is to add the things I mentioned above coupled with a few tweaks to the engine here and there and you could have a hit.

So tell me, what would you do if Bioware suddently woke up and added all these features plus a few of your own if you want.

PS: I know that free space flight is a big thing for a lot of people, but for the sake of the argument lets leave it out. If they could make the rail shooter work for them as a form of PVP contest or some type of race a la Mario Kart but with your personal Space ship i think that would be enough for hte time being.

Personnaly I'd be happy if half the damn mechanics in the game worked.

Right now crafting is completely broken. And unlocked recipes are reset with each login.

This is the most collosal FLOP of a F2P transition ever made by man. At least to date.

To find an intelligent person in a PUG is not that rare, but to find a PUG made up of "all" intelligent people is one of the rarest phenomenons in the known universe.

I havnt tried the free to play, I am actually reinstalling the game as I type this. I understand that crafting was pretty broken even when I left but what I wanted to do with this thread was to try and give Bioware some ideas as to how not SUCK at game developing, in a sense.

They have arguably the goose withe the golden eggs but for some reason they are trying to kill it instead of keeping it happy, if you know what I mean. If they added a more WoWlike crafting system (aka you dont get shit at random) and also add the stuff I mentioned above, would most of ou return and give it a try or are you really gone for good?

Good ideas, OP. I can never fathom my Bioware misses so many good ideas and opportunities for a SW MMO. There were SO MANY cool ideas given from fans and players... but Bioware missed them all.

Like the quest to get the HK droid. What a farce. Hours of seeking some stupid parts with a mechanic that is NO FUN at all, and then you need to redo old content? Wow, that wasn't very creative.

No, there are so many cool ideas around here a Star Wars MMO could have, but Bioware just dropped that ball with this game. Their lack of creativity is really astounding. Alas.

    Seconded.

The only advice I'd give them is to try again from scratch and this time not try to make a WoW clone in space. (The fact that anyone would even have to tell them that is beyond astonishing...)

Atm I think EA should sell swtor to another dev, possibly Trion or Funcom, and allow them remake it with the orginal code. Say what you want about Trion and Funcom, IMO they are the only Themepark devs moving in the right direction. Or Disney who now owns SW needs to allow another company to make a SW mmo.

But for SWTOR to work EA like soe did with VG is to hire COMPETENT devs to fix all the bugs first and foremost, then make new content, then add small things like pazaak, swoop racing, real space combat, more classes unique to each faction, more races, less emphasis on gear treadmill, more on small group story driven content, again this would be my perfect swtor.

As far as I see it, EA has killed BW. First with the more action oriented DA2, then with the more action focused ME3, then the final nail in the coffin was the PURE money grab that is SWTOR. How BW handles DA3 and ME4 will truly tell if BW can rise from the grave.

    I would like :

Remoove the 2 action bar limit.

Add a decent amount of pvp games instead of 5 a week  or at least add the ability to unlock unlimited pvp with cartel coins.

    Thirded..

This game needs a NGE so bad, it's not even funny.. In fact as one poster said it.. I would like to see another company take over the rights to SWTOR.. Personally the game was doomed to fail as an MMO in the beginning, even before EA.. The title proves that.. "The Old Republic".. This was designed from the beginning as a KoTOR 3 with multiple character storylines.. Not my cup of tea, ty..  I want a living breathing Star Wars world, not a linear roller coaster ride from start to finish... I wanted huge open world maps like SWG.. I wanted space combat to be more flexible, then this "on rails" stuff we are forced to eat.. Don't get me wrong, I like most of the space missions as a solo gig, but it shouldn't be the only way..  To have it as some side distraction is fine, but there needs to be more, especially group available..  RAID in space??? sounds good..

Well, the list could go on and on.. but oh well...  Can we get a SWG 2.0 now?  lol
