Apart from the question of who offers support I find it amusing that EU players have only TWO servers, while the US gets SIX. Have SOE not realised yet that the European market is just as big as the US market?

Typical head up arse SOE again.

You can access the eu servers via SOE login. But if it came to it I would rather start a new char pretend Im from america and play on the US servers. After all this is a 24/7 game!

Sadly, if you dared to register on the pro7 site it will detect that you did so and refer you to that (which doesn't work).

My EU launcher doesn't work, no matter what I try.

Did you mean if you registered PS2? You can change your name a bit if you want an soe account a new one. Add Bob or something into your middlename ;)

Basically, to access the game you simply have to lie about your location and put it as United States when you create a SOE account, otherwise it redirects you to prosieben

It told me in particular that I was already registered on pro7 as well, not sure what that meant.

SOE's system has me registered as EU but I was in the beta for PS2 my dcuo is taken care of by probien.  However, I have downloaded the SOE version of PS2 and have played via the SOE system bypassing entirely probien.

Did you register PS2 on Probien's site, that could be where the error is.  And yes SOEs system probably does reject your name because of that.

But if I was new or SOE forced me to migrate Id just start up again. So yes perhaps in order to play via soe you have to become an internet liar :(.

Its something Id do without thinking about it.  I speak english I don't need anything localised thank you.

Id like to end by saying this whole thing is a big fat mess,  SOE should be ashamed.

Basically I registered on the prosieben site, logged in with a SOE account localised in the EU and the launcher said they "detected" me as being registered on the pro7 site, might just be a standard speech, cus they didn't detect my lie for a second when I did make another SOE account.

I don't get why they need to make a mess of things in the first place when you can actually get into EU servers via the US launcher.

Created a fresh sony account for beta.
    Downloaded from Steam yesterday.
Playing on a EU & US(eastcoast) Server with sony login on the sony site.

F2P publishers like Pro7 / (Ex)Frogster / Gameforge are the worst, if i had to use them directly i wouldn't bother to play. (and it probably explains why eu servers are lagging like ***** sometimes).

I'm not planning to support sony with money until this is resolved for good.

    Update:

Seems things have changed. Yesterday I couldn't even download the client from the official (US) site, it kept popping up messages with a button to click to go to the prosieben site. Today a friend told me to try again, and I did.

    No problems whatsoever!

According to the messages I got yesterday, only those who participated in the beta is able to play with an SOE account (EU players, not US). Well, that's one of the thins that's changed, appearently, cause I never played the beta.

    Edit:

    @skydiver12:

I had no problems whatsoever. Played on one of the EU servers, and the ONLY issue I had, was a 30 seconds queue. None of the server lags you're talking about, everything worked just perfectly.

Been playing PS1, been playing PS2 beta and PS2 release with my Sony account.

No problems whatsoever. Thing is, yesterday I was already ingame right after launch, installed thru steam at top speed (50mb fiber), and was working fine.

    Today, is literally unplayable.

Official Forum has a CSR from sony advising "EU Folks" to blame ProSieben because US servers are fine.

    Yes, EU shafted again.

reckon i can pretend im from USA even with a .co.uk email?

Theres no way im subbing for the EU service, I dont know these german tv guys from Adam although they sound very GOA / Frogster.  Dont get why a big multinational like sony needs to subcontract its EU operation, and if they did why not use someone good like Turbine do with Codemasters?

Also why does EU have 2 servers and USA 6.  More people live in the europe than north america.

    Netspook

Might try my old soe account again and the ini file tweak to trick it into thinking its usa client.
  • ShakyMoShakyMo Member CommonPosts: 7,207
Are they going to pull this shit with EQ next too.

Mind not like Sony don't have history with Europeans, 9 month ps3 delay and what have you. Anyone would think they don't want our custom.

Apparently the eu servers are based in the czech republic.  They have some guy like the cook in 2 broke girls trying to fix it all the time with a wrench :P.
  • ShakyMoShakyMo Member CommonPosts: 7,207

I can say those having FPS issues.  Its probably the servers

Ive got a low end gaming rig (FX4 / 6850 / 8gb) when playing on the US east cost on medium settings (shadows / voice channels low) i get pretty good frame rate in 1080p

the EU one i could litterally see the frames paint and got lots of sudden pop up of players and shit.

so if your in the UK - PLAY USA SERVERS - until they fix the bloody thing.

I'm not the only one lagging, the servers have some issues with latency and the chat is filled occasionally with people typing "lag". (I shoot, reload, the guy i shot at dies, in this order)
Funny thing is, playing on East coast gives better results. Just to be clear, i don't have constant lags on EU servers.

The overall latency is higher on east coast, but the server appears do not completly lag out for a few seconds every now and then.

It isn't gamebreaking to me (yet) but simply not worth any money.

These ProSiebenSat people are utter horrors, people are having issues with their accounts and the EU servers are atrocious.

I hate to say it but do not play on EU servers at this time unless you enjoy frustration in abundance.

    Mwhahahahahahah! Codemasters... your funny!

There is a reason Turbine pulled Lotro back from Codemasters. Codemasters was not good. They were and are extremely crap. They just weren't as complete a disaster as GOA and Frogster. But they were NOT good.

yeah im playing on east coast server - my ping is much smaller

now if only i could tie my account to sony I could give them some money and buy a 3 month sub.  But im not giving my money to these sattelite people, they cant keep a web page up longer than 2 hours at a time, be dammend if im giving them my credit card details.  I'll just play for free then.

I didnt have massive problems with them, and played lotro on UK servers.

GOA with DAOC though were appaling.  For some reason they maintainedf the French servers better than the English and German ones.  Mythic ended up loosing the big german market and most briots played on Prydwen or Mordred rather than put up with the GOA idiots.

    proseiben playing up AGAIN!!!!

cant get into game, i think the launcher is supposed to be downloading a patch but just sits there doing nothing.

The EU server problem has been sorted, a bad hardware configuration apparently, but it was very stable last night, but i still feel for those having to use Prosibien.
