I don't see it as really making a difference

sure the AO tag that was slapped on a few, big deal, kids can't buy it anymore. Or can they?

Gamestore workers really don't care about different ratings and who's buying it. I know from past experience when I wasn't allowed to buy certain games. I'd still buy them with ease!

It won't really make a difference.

i would have to disagree, sure the M rating is ignored more often then not by any store, but all the major retailers dont carry AO games.

GTA san adreas was dropped by wal mart, target, bestbuy, EB GAMES, and possible gamestop. once it got an AO rating.

so a M rated MMORPG no one would care but AO ones wouldnt really sell.

I feel, in my opinion, that there just isn't enough fuel to make an M. You can't have gibbing or gore unless it happend to an NPC you just slain and even then you'd probably use more processing power than to have a static death cry and fall crumpled on the ground. I wouldn't buy it but I'd give it a shot, sure.

i think they should only because there isnt any good ones atm, im holding out for aoc ofcource....hopefully that will be a decent mmo with lots of gore::::40::

would just be kool to have in a mmo imo, also you could allways have the option to turn it down or off if your computer couldnt handle it or to make the game run smoother.

Dosen't make a difference to me. What do you want? Blood, Sex, Cussing? All not needed (blood would always be nice and make sense though but blood is in the "E-T".

I agree with Riki in that why should they make M rated games in the first place? Whats the point of having a game that tosses "F" bombs every 15 seconds? Why have a game that displays sex acts? Why have a game that overdoes it with the graphic levels of violence? None of those factors advance the story.

But if you notice some developers bank on their game selling simply because it has an M rating. Take "The Suffering" for instance. Midway proudly advertises their game as "The Goriest, darkest, and most expletive packed games." It wouldn't have sold as well if it wasnt for the rediculous levels of gore in it. Even though all the gore did little for the plot. It could have been toned down a bit.

I personally have never bought a game simply because it had an M rating. Unfortunatly there are those that focus on the rating and the majority of those people are minors. It's the thrill of possessing something forbidden to them. The thrill of having contraband material.

im 30 years old and i just like gore, and imo a m rated game with alot of blood and gore in the fighting just makes it more realistic. i mean when your pvping....wouldnt you rather dismember a foe's limbs or head? than just see there body collapse to the ground.....oh well, hopefull AOC will be like that...that would be kool imo.

I think if a developer went risky and made an MMORPG rated "M" or didnt even think about a rating and went all out ot make a kick ass MMORPG with blood and gore (as people in this thread have said) it would be good.  But don't get me wrong, every mmo regardless about gore and stuff has to have a good world developed and has the interests of gamers.  If more popular MMORPG's would add a little gore then I would enjoy it more....

I think they should have more goor in mmorpgs, it would make it more interesting, like have blood spray out of a monsters neck or somthing every now and then, spice up the game.  Even brief nudity, but they should make it so you could turn off the nudity or goor and im all for it.

To me it doesnt really matter. I think it would be cool if they made more M rated mmorpg's but I think they would lose alot of costumers as well. Seems like alot of younger people play mmorpg's as well and that would lessen the number of younger players. (not that thats a bad thing.) It would be nice to see my blade slashing off some monsters heads and limbs once in a while. ::::40::

  • They should make a Freakingly Gory Game with hella lot of blood with your character armor covered with it from face to feet! that would be awsome ::::08::::::08:: with the possibility to make some really violent "Finish Him ": Cut in half, Burning runing around Crying, Frost and be destroy in thousand pieces , head chop , Arm Slicing!

Im dreaming ::::31:: no one will make such a game, all the "Good Moral" dudes around the world will make petition to stop the game ! ::::21::

Actualy there is WoQ ( PoQ) but it cant be call Violent ::::36::

I agree that there should be an option to turn off the blood or brief nudity.  How can people complain if by default the blood and nudity is off and everyone else just switches it on or vise versa...
  • Or making it that at first you have that naked Babe and when you turn it off , the babe change into a Freaking 900 pounds Fat ass lady sit on a bed :P
