Just got the game and having issues getting my logitech gamepad to work

in Final Fantasy XI

Anyone have any suggestions on configuring my gamepad to work?  I love this game but the movement is crazy so I bought a gamepad to try to see if that would help, but can't get the thing to work.  Someone suggested that there was a way to configure it through PlayOnline but I couldnt find it, any help would be awesome.

    You need to configure it, but not through PlayOnline. There is a separate program you need to run when you're NOT running the client. You'll find it in the Start Menu. If you take the default settings, it'll work just like a PS2 controller for the PS2 version.
