They work on it and Hickman already played it. They are not going to release it until it's ready.
But of course considering 12/21/12 is coming you might be right
Edit:

If they on the other hand mess it up it will probably be the last nail in the coffin, they need to get this right.

Yep, I agree. One of the reasons why it will take time. They are not going to rush with it.
I don't 'hate' anything, Seven. I was just as hyped as anyone when TOR launched, but then incompetence ensued and the whole thing just seemed to fall apart. Then they introduced one of the most punishing cash shops I've ever seen and now I just can't believe anything that the EA 'mouth-pieces' have to say.
They adjust the cash shop... nothing is perfect at first shot... check it out later
This ship sailed long ago for me on this game. If they implemented a good space combat portion, along with overhauling the entire game I might come back. lol
It seems to me that they would want to give information about it, even if its just a tad here and a tad there.. The backlash they've had with the F2P launch has been horrible. Good prees and word of mouth couldn't hurt them. Just saying there is a "space project" doesn't get me too excited, especially after seeing the let down that was F2P. Give me some info...get me excited again.

I agree, but then there is not much information about Makeb as well and that is coming very soon.
I agree that they should give us at least overview, so players could comment and maybe even give them some cool ideas. Especially if it's in the first phase of developement, when changes can be still easily made.
Though from other side... there were so many comments about what players wanted from space combat /shrug
I admit that my love for Star Wars space combat could bring me back to play at least part time. This would have to wait until the content is released though. The game doesn't offer me enough to keep me around at this moment. I hated to whole Wow in space approach to it but I will admit I did like my Agent's gameplay for the most part. It ranks up there with some of my favorite themepark mmo classes despite all it's flaws.
I'm aching for a good space mmo. Call me a sucker but I really want to try out AO again if the update tease is for real and we see it in the early new year.
Interview was a joke.. talk about PR hype and trying to boast somethingt that isnt' there.. I just checked server status, 2 standard and 6 heavy.. NOT one server is very heavy or full.. F2P surge will be short lived.. I see NO hope for this game in the future unless they can talk about their version of NGE..
The game could likely get a good amount of players back because when they first announced F2P alot of players got interested in it again. Then they announced what their version of F2P was and everyone walked away. Perhaps they should take note of that and allow "limited" access to the things we currently have "NO" access to. Limited access to things is fine, its a slight annoyance but gets your sales pitch in. Making me pay a sub so be able to collect quest rewards, BW is shooting themselves in the foot.
While the Space Project would be cool, they need to draw interest back into the game. To do that allow a little bit more freedom into the F2P side of things. Im not saying Drop the leash im saying give it abit more slack.
Because i can. I'm Hopeful For Every Game, Until the Fan Boys Attack My Games. Then the Knives Come Out. Logic every gamers worst enemy.

Did you log in? Game is packed with players. On the Ebon Hawk it seems to be the same amount of players right now at heavy as it was week or two ago on full. Possible that they adjust the caps on servers. Neverless there are always less people playing on weekdays comparing with weekends in any game.

Log in? no way.. I'd rather suffer through a dental surgery with no novicane, they to play SWTOR again.. Even F2P is too expensive.. They only way I would play this game is if THEY paid me lol
Im trying to log in, but im getting slapped with Massive lag tonight. i would love to actually play the game abit and test to see the F2P option abit more. However i cant...

Star Wars games (any Star Wars games) biggest problem was always the implementation of the game without the "space" element. The top reason why people become fascinated with sci-fi in the first place is the space aspect.
Look at Star Wars games that is set in the movie timeline for example. Which one was still most memoriable to a lot of gamers?
X-Wing vs T-Fighter or the X-Wing series.
Another example: Which is the current top sci-fi mmos at the moment? EVE Online
Yet another example: which game created and made popular the sci-fi genre in computer games? Elite
All of those are based on the space aspect of it rather than the "walking around" aspect like WoW.
A good sci-fi mmorpg's goal should've to merge the 2 aspect seamlessly. None have been successful in doing so, I think that's why sci-fi mmorpg genre has always fallen behind fantasy genre - because people are not getting the holistic sci-fi experience.
That's said, if BW did manage to do the space element properly and clean up the horrid planet-instance crap, I think I will come back for a second try.

Even if subs would go down for a while, assuming that people won't stay for new content promissed every 6-8 weeks, and I assure you most people will stay as there is nothing on the market at the moment that would tempt them, they will rebound after this project go live.
Also given that its been an hour and ive havent been able to even play the game 5 minuites. if this lag continues and is the same for anyone else. i wont be suprised if they lose more subs.

WOOOOW? did you get lag on the level 1? you have a terrible computer lol
Originally posted by Rayshe Im a TSW fan, Big time. And if TSW can survive with the subs it has. so can SWTOR.
The difference is SWTOR needs 500K subs to break even. TSW does not, and has not yet gone F2P, meaning they are surviving nicely on their monthly fee
first i want to say i hate you, i saw you here in mmorpg forums of swtor trolling all the time, second SWTOR doesn't need 500k subs anymore. with the F2P shop EA is getting money each minut, that means they can survive with less than 500k and get money from F2P shop
Here is an official statement straight from the horses mouth of EA on 1st Aug following the F2P announcement
The President of EA Labels Frank Gibeau said the Star Wars game would still break even so long as it maintained 500,000 subscribers, but admitted that its current performance was "not good enough".
Have you got a link to something after that to say they do not need 500K subs any more?

That was before F2P. If you would hear the constant pop up of cartel boxes on fleet, which drives me nuts because I want to open next one, you would know that they are getting a lot of money from F2P
In fact their comment from Livestream Event was
The numbers have blown away our expectations, which means good things for the players and the game.
Edit: considering that I spent over $300 so far and I am not the only one LOL - they are getting nice profit from F2P.

THat is the whole point it going F2P as subs were not getting it. They still need the equivalent of 500K subs from F2P, otherwise if it did not need that many, it would not have gone F2P
