    neither one of those make a game a mmorpg or not make a mmorpg imo, wow is a mmorpg because it has a massive player base,is a persistant world, and is a rpg game.

      BTW I understand the point of the poll and while I admit the huge number of immature people that play WoW ruin it, it still is a mmorpg. It's really ashame because it's a great game. Just a terrible childish community. Would be nice if only Adults were allowed to play but it would be impossible to screen everyone.

    So? You can like the Warcraft Universe, especially its Art, without liking WoW. Also the Xfire says all time 74 hours, which again doesn't say he played beyond the first month. And 74 hours of play gives you a sufficient insight into a MMO to pass judgement on many of its aspects (not all though I admit).

    I made this poll cause I've read so many Threads about WoW not following the real "thin red line" of MMORPG style games. The arguement that was typed the most times were; "Many people that play WoW has never played a MMORPG before", and, "There are too many immature young kids". And I wanted to know if this was true.

      WoW to me is the best mmo out there. If you can stomach the kiddie rich community with their constant whining and begging for money then this game is for you. I played it for 3 months and had a great time.

    You say that people are saying just because first time MMO players are playing WoW violates the MMORPG handbook on official MMORPG titles?

    Please define what this "thin red line" is?

    Just because an immature player is playing WoW does not lessen it's legitamacy as a Massively Multiplayer Online RolePlaying Game. Wherever gave you that information is in error.

         Your confusing WoW with Guild wars. That is the Online RPG that most retards call a MMO. Although for the most part, WoW does have a lot of immature kids. It is easily avoided though through means of playing on a RolePlaying server.
