Devil May Cry 1, got a call early sunday 2001 about my father passing away.
WoW during a raid got a call last of my grand parents (grandma) passed away.
now i can't really play those games without thinking about this but i quit wow years ago anyway.

I forgot about 9/11 that year...that year sucked
i remember getting a phone call that day my friend telling me to turn on the news i did and i was in disbelief.
at the time i was playing twisted metal black and lets just say the stage where a plane flys into a buidling and a lvl where you can blow up buildings i couldn't play that anymore.

The bad news was I realized I was playing WoW.
On a serious note, I would probably also go with the 9/11 and I was playing EQ at the time in NY, happen to skip school that day too.
EQ2 - our guild leader was diagnozed with bone cancer and died few months later. He played with us to the end.
It was heartbreaking experience and made me quit EQ2.
