Those are the differences, and I can only hope that they will be better. It will be a new and fresh experience and that is one reason I'll be checking it out. I also want to see what it's like to be the "Bad Guy". With PvP there should now be a decent and competitive end game.

yea thats what i thought at first... My dad got into beta before i did and tended to watch him from time to time as he played..
At first i thought it was just like CoH and everything.
But the bases make such a difference. It might actually put some kind of economy into the game. When you kill villians, sometimes you get these thigns called Salvage. They are used to create things (do this in a workbench inside your base) You have to combine a few things, and with the things you make from the salvage, you can put those together to make actual items for your base. There are common Salvage and some rare ones too. Luckily you have the ability to trade salvage! which imo is just awesome heh.
You also get prestige whenever you kill something (you have to be in SuperVillain mode, SG mode basically)
Note: I could be wrong with the crafting salvage or whatever. I think you put together Salvage items, and use those at a workbench to make an item for your base, but i think you have to spend prestige in order to "Buy" that item you create at the workbench... Its weird i know, but ill post an update when i find out for sure
The issues will nerf it, but until X-Mas, it will be as good as CoH was at release. I am more or less quoting Wepps, but I think he gets it right on. I am going to give it a try and hope he was right. This time I will be wise, Stateman love the Mastermind, I will play a Mastermind.

Originally posted by zethcarn SLNTASN, thanks for the info, it's quite interesting. What do the base items actually do for you? And I assume "heroes" get bases too?
Yeah.. they do.
You can heal at bases instead of the hospital, and later (once you get the teleporter) you can use them as a portal to other zones.
That's aside from PVP base raids & such.

I can't give a single positive response for CoV. It is a modified CoH. I'd stay away. The PvP is borked as well. Only certain classes win in the PvP fights. Unless the villain/hero is tuned for PvP, youre not going to win.
New maps, new classes, updated graphics, higher computer specs, modified mission maps, new character skins. It's CoH over again.

Have you actually played in either PVP event? That's so inaccurate, you might as well say that the orcs win all the time.

So true. There's nothing like sending an army of minions to fight to victory (yours) or death (theirs).
The only downside is, at release, there'll be masterminds everywhere. But everywhere.
Brutes play pretty nicely, too. In general, soloing seems easier -- I think the new archetypes are better balanced for the solo game than the CoH ones were. A bit weaker in teams, though; there's a definite focus on offense rather than defense. It takes a different playstyle. The old CoH tricks don't all work in CoV.
I wouldn't say there's anything earth-shattering, and anyone who doesn't like CoH probably isn't going to like CoV. But enough is different that I think it's worth it. Might think differently if there were an extra monthly fee, but fortunately, they've decided not to go that way.

Actually Elves own!!!
I think we know the answer to that, about the PvP events (was a cool Bloody Bay one last night aswell). How many times does this guys (Useful) have to preach his sermon. He's completely off the mark and keeps quoting the same things over and over like gospel even though he's proved wrong by most of the game's community and people here, over and over and over....again. I'd just ignore him, unless he's up to his misleading new player antics again. Which he's again trying to do here.

Yeah, sure the majroity of the CoH/CoV community including myself are lieing and you are right.
People do make their own minds up, but at least feed them the correct information when they ask. You just keep coming here saying the same things, get proved wrong then next you are saying the same again only to be yet again proved wrong. All the OP needs to do is look at practically any thread within this forum and he'll see that.
You're crazy!! Just because you keep saying it over and over, doesn't make it right. It like banging ones head against a wall with you.
Seriously give up, you're only making yourself look like a fool.
