I was called a hacker twice now. Once because i was killing people inside their spawn room because C4 and grenade blast can hit them...
The other time, and this was hilarious, some 5 man "were behind enemy lines and here to cause mayhem" group got wiped about 3 times in a row by me, alone, untill i found their sunderer and killed it.
First time i ran into them i was a bit scared, 5 guys not extecting it ect. Untill they all start shooting wildly at me from the hip, i scoped and head shot one thne moved on to the next killing all. I decided to stay there (we had biodome regens going so i healed up)...then...again i see them, proceed to repeate the same incident.
Not im curious that i saw them twice in the same spot about 45-60 seconds apart...wheres the sunderer at. See them again hanging around it, mid ranged head shots for all and then i pull out the rocket launcher and finish the sunderer off.
They did port in a few before the sundeerer was dead and they did kill me that time...with tons of yell taunts that they finally killed the hacker and for everyone to report me ect.
My regret was not video recording the incident. They were beyond horrible and im going to assume that every encounter they have will be against "hackers" if they are at the skill level i saw.
I also played with a few people who, to them, every kill on them was from a hacker. I had to get them into a LA and show them what was happening for them to believe that it was possible and not hackers. We ended up killing the hackers and the morale of the story was in both cases the accusers were beyond retarded and very poorly skills (though both times in denial)
Hackers do exist, its much more rare than you think, and in this game its easy to die, and being new or poorly skilled and in denial makes it seems like everyones running aimbots with wall hacks...doesnt make it so.
I support deleting hack threads, it just snowballs into a game where two things happen. One, everyone assumes everyones hacking and two, it legitimizes others to hack since you know...everyone else is doing it.
Next comes the "i was banned for no reason" threads...
Im yet to see a hacker in this game. I believe that there are, but for now...not even 1.
No obvious hackers for me so far. I can usually give as good as I get. Literally...like 50% K/D ration and climbing as I play more.
2. They are wokring on it. You cannot prevent hacks 100% of the time.
They delete the threads because they don't want to lose business to new and current players just because they see tons of threads reporting hacking. It also, encourages the hackers to continue their behaivor as it is truely affecting some one.
Honestly, I'd do the samething if I was in their shoes.
Also, for the time I've played since launch, I've yet to run into a hacker. Some of the people reporting hacks are probably not getting killed by hackers, but instead skilled players.
This makes the most sense to me. And he's probably right.
That and they dont want anyone getting any ideas. People often mention specific programs and methods.

Smedly is one of the very few higher ups that's also a gamer. In his case, it always seems like he's a gamer first. Sometimes that's good, sometimes it's not.

Except for all the people getting killed beyond the max range of the weapons killing them...
And the people getting killed inside their tanks/vehicles without the vehicles being damaged....
And the people getting killed by people using the lag-update hack to fight when invisible...
And the speed hacks....
And on, and on....
And most of that I have personally seen.
The fact is that SOE knew about all these all the way back into beta and before, and yet has not fixed the problems (and this was months ago).
So, fine, they are not ignorant of the problem, they are simply incompetent to the point that they can not even trouble shoot the code that they themselves wrote.
But then, this is SOE we are talking about.
Same exact thing happened with DCUO and that game crashed within a couple months of launch.

I am not charging money for a product/service... they are.
And yes, there are a number of things, both commercial and custom that could be done to fix some of these exploits that I know about, and plenty of others do too. (Punkbuster, server side sanity checks, mode vs movement speed checks, etc) And all of that should have been considered when doing the coding in the first damn place.
But fixing bugs/exploits has never been important to SOE, because it is money spent for "no tangible" gain, in their way of thinking, as opposed to coming up with a new bunch of stuff for the cash shop. Which is where the programmer time goes.
If I am wrong, then why has SOE been glacially slow to fix bugs/exploits in ever title they have put out so far?
Even when it drives the game into the ground, like DCUO?

SOE's previous games, especially DCUO, were not exploited and unfixed for long periods? Plenty of threads on here to look at for that...
That's what "boosters" with no answers do when they have nothing: name calling.
SOE, unlike plenty of smaller gaming houses, have plenty of money to fight hacks/cheats, so why aren't these exploits fixed or weren't they fixed when they were known about in beta?
Because SOE did not care enough to bother hiring the people to do it.
I find it funny that people are shocked when there is hacks in a shooter game lol.
Every shooter game i can think of has had hacks, why do people think PS2 would be any different.
Just hope SOE actualy does something about it, PS1 they didnt seem to do much about from what i hear.
To put it in perspective the offical forum post from a moderator that was stickied for the trials was that they are ending trials due to hackers as a scape goat or not I can't tell as I didn't run into a single hacker during the trials.
But yes they are deleting them to improve image I guess and make the forums look better. Although, one day I woke up to check the forums and all but 4-5 threads were about hackers on the first page. They got deleted eventually.
Also the giant issue about the 500 sc monthly, they literally deleted at least 20 of these threads within an hour. Claiming stated reason as "8) Abide by moderator and SOE employee actions and direction - self-explanatory." no matter what the contents of the post. They eventually made a non stickied offical one after tons of complaints.
It is rather funny the nonsense they delete your posts for, so one time I posted a video fully of someone using an aimbot since someone was unsure if they existed and got this.
"This message is to inform you that I have removed your comment below for linking a video to exploits. When posting, make sure your comments abide by SOE policy."
I have to ask a question, how was that a video of an exploit, I mean it would have made more sense to claim it was advertising, or hacking, anything else would have made more sense but they went with that. This moderation isn't new though for them though, also they will mark you even if your not the op and they delete the thread.
The SOE crusade to ban PS2 hackers is becoming more interesting than the game itself. Talk about fighting off unending hordes along a never-ending journey to the mythical mountain where evil resides - we are talking solid fantasy literature here.
Our hero starts out resolute. Darkness will be banished. Light will be triumphant. He steps forward and lops off the head of a few baddies. See! Take up hope!
Then he looks and sees it was just the first wave. There are more - many more. And as fast as he kills them, they seem to return as if sprouting from the ground. The monsters also become more challenging, cunning, destructive. Our hero begins to flag.
But he will not yield - never! And yet, what is he willing to do himself to win? Will he place the greater good at the service of lowly means? Is he willing to risk becoming what he is fighting against? Ruthless, devious, obsessed....
Smedley has thrown down the gauntlet. He has also made this Haruhi a God-Prophet of the Hackers (assuming Haruhi has the English-language proficiency and interest in assuming the role of Arch-Nemesis).

Are you done yet? This crusade of yours is getting boring
Its funnt when you and about 15 guys run up over a hill and all of the sudden you are all 1 shot killed all by the same guy. Or speedy gonzales running across the map at super fast speed. Actualy see an aimbot in work and hes on your team, go to shoot him and cant because hes got god mode on. Take pictures, videos, and 100 people saying the same thing about the same person.............. and we are the bad guys for posting the stuff lol.
Seems like they protect the hackers more than the legit players.
Seriously, what harm is it if the person is shown on the forum hacking? We alreay know your game is full of them and they are taking over.
Ill give them a week, if nothing is done by then, I will delete. No point in wasting my time if they dont care about their own game.

Mesage flashed up on Miller last night from an admin saying they had banned a bunch of hackers and asking players to keep reporting cheaters.
Still see a lot of the known cheats running around though.
Expresso gave me a Hearthstone beta key.....I'm so happy
