Get in on the ground floor with this new kickstarter! If you love Pathfinder, try to support it early and get in on alpha testing and the like. Figured someone out there would want to see this.

An MMO based on the James Fenimore Cooper book?!
Oh, wait, its just that P&P RPG.
Sad.
I skate to where the puck is going to be, not where it has been -Wayne Gretzky
It really is a very basic Tech Demo - it's not even alpha footage, It's a test of competence of the devs: 2d pathfinder art -> 3d environment + animations (choreographed by dev controlled NNPC's vs Goblins: It's not even combat, just animations!). The Goblin Works Blogs are very interesting: https://goblinworks.com/blog/
One of the best mmorpg video summaries I've seen (eg up there with ArenaNet's Evolution of the quest system presentation):

I don't disagree with that - in fact I'm surprised they used that footage for the pitch. But have you read the Goblin Works Dev/Design blogs, I'd point out as a more positive side to this sandbox mmorpg?
This is my major concern with this mmorpg - but bear in mind the tech demo footage is not combat - just animations dev controlled to choreograph the idea of combat in a 3d world with some basic animations (those I like actually).
There's been a little discussion on the combat design in the blogs:
Blog #24: A Three-Headed Hydra
Blog #26: Gentlemen, You Can't Fight in Here! This is the War Room!
But it's skill-based instead of class-based = +1
There's obvious trade-offs between systems (eg it's not tera: Awesome combat, uninspired other or SWOTOR: great story but low on other) as it's a sandbox it's going for broad systems that integrate. But I hope they can still come out with a combat system that is a lot more fun than the usual tab-target hot-key systems. I think it's possible if they can take inspiration from PnP rules more...

The $100k they get from first "Tech Demo" kickstarter actually to fund for this Kickstarter?
Pardon my English as it is not my 1st language
humm i paid what $5 for MinerWars back a few years ago and have been messing around with tech demps, alphas, beta and now release and it turned out pretty good really.. well worth the cash i paid for it..
I have also backed other kickstarter projects that im currently playing and very happy with..
I am not sure about this one tho, are there any tech demos yet or screenshots of the actual game?
Not much apart from the tech demo in the Kickstarter pitch itself. They've still to reveal the tech (middleware) info also, so I can appreciate it's very early days for backing this mmorpg. But I recommend their excellent design objectives, workable release strategy and good community.

Considering every MMO ever developed is based on a p&p rpg, why is it sad?
