I got bored the other day so I decided to break out some older games that I had in storage. For the most part I have been utterly shocked over how much I enjoy playing these games over newer ones.
For example, Ive been playing Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast and Im actually loving it again. And the graphics aren't too bad. Been having a awesome time force pushing stormtroopers off a 300 foot precipace and using force run to utterly destroy the Reborn Dark Jedi before they can even activate their sabers.
Also, Ive been messing with Thief: Deadly Shadows a bit too. Fun game...as well as NWN

My dad lost my copy of JK2: Outcast....so I can't play it. If I could. I would beat you in it
That is the one reason that I never sell my old video games. I never sell any of my games, because I know that a time will come where I'm going to get bored, play it, and still love it. I still get a kick out of playing X-Men: Mutant Apocalypse on the SNES. Sometimes I got to get away from this 3D stuff and get some good old side scrolling gaming going.

Has it been that long since the release of Jedi Outcast? Wow I'm getting old fast. I was still thinking that game was relatively new LOL but I just did a check on the Net and it came out in 1992.
I like to pull out old games as well and give them a whirl. Theres an old PC game from 1999 called "Kingdom under Fire". It's a fantasy RTS game. If you havent tried that one you're really missing out.
the other day i found Lemmings and Oregon Trail somewhere in storage. Anybody know a good DOS emulator?
Make of it what you will.
here is some old skool for you, free of charge!

I remember playing The Legend of Zelda for the first time. The NES was brand new and the Legend of Zelda had JUST been shipped to Toys R Us. It retailed for 50 bucks and had the awesome gold cartridge.
I was in 8th grade (1988). I played Legend of Zelda SO MUCH that I actually got so sick I vomited all over the place one entire night. Everywhere. I never had a gaming addiction until then (never knew what it was).
Man, those were the days lol

Wow now thats pretty freaky. I've never had video gaming affect my bodily functions like that before.
I would have to say the worst experience I've had from video game binging was back in college when I sat up all night with some friends playing one of the Mechwarrior games. Now I admit we partied hard back then and we were doing psylocibin mushrooms while playing the game. Well we decided to go out for something to eat so we let the only guy that wasnt messed up do the driving. Well on the way to the resteraunt I kept seeing a HUD display while looking through the windshield. And the scary thing is that I kept getting a lockon with cars and people on the side of the road. Really weird experience.
lol video games when your tripin....dont get me started lol
i had some crazy experiences with super street fighter on sega genisis hehe

Firstly MASTER OF ORION!!! ONe of the greatest games of all time according to most "greatest games of all time" articles by major magazines. No one was ready for this intergalactic Strategy game that blew all of us away
next Hero's Quest AKA Quest for Glory.... Yeah... i dont even have to say anything...
next is Wacky Wheels... need i say more?

talking about the Ol DOS games, I remember back in High School (1989-1992) we would have a Roleplaying get together every other friday night from 6 pm to saturday 10 am.
We would pen and paper dungeons and dragons or mechwarrior from 6pm to about 4 am then go to our friends "super computer" the kind that had not only DOS 3.3 but a 10 megabyte Harddrive!! A 286 SX if I remember right.
We would play the Shogun wars (the strategy game where you fed your countrymean rice for morale, train soldiers, send out diplomats etc. Long game because you could only do 1 move per turn (year). Object of the game was to take over all of Japan.
Man, those were the days.
