Just heard about another sandbox game in what appears to be early stages of development. It appears they intend to focus on a dynamic world, with complex guild, social, and economic systems.
The website is here: https://portal.annorath-game.com/#

Looks interesting.

Very nice. Might this be the approach EQ Next takes but on. Grander scale and with some of the very best elements of themeparks without the rails.

I agree with all of the above. It has a great look to it, but not a lot of hard information so far.
They do appear to be taking applications for alpha testing, though.

I only checked the youtube link. World looks pretty.
I guess time will tell.
Gloria victis is also adding a weather and seasons in a similar fashion. I wonder if this will become the new standard.

This game got a little bit of time on last weeks TWiMMO. I personally like the immersion of day / night cycles.
It's kind of disappointing when a brand new game lacks that feeling of time, especially when EQ1 (1999) had it down. Sun rose, set, moon rose, set .. stars in the sky, and nighttime was extremely dark if you didn't have a lantern, but even then it would only mildly immuninate what you were near to. fun fun.
edit: theres some more recent work on their YouTube channel, mostly tech demos. The water effects look great, and the wind effect, blowing trees around is very cool. Sound is realistic as well.
