As alot of us MMORPG/RPG fans thought from the very beginning. Mcquaid isn't the best choice of desingers for such a grand title. He still believes the old Verant ideology "Your in our world now and we will torture you for years with tedious advancement and rulesets".
The newest blunder is that the game has implemented TLC (The dreaded "Trivial Loot Code" which failed miserably in polls in the original EQ game and more or less scrapped during its time). How on earth McQuaid came to this desicion is beyond most of us RPG gamers.
So basically buying money from IGN sweatshops will be HUUUUUGE in this game.
Also expect to see people deleveling themselves so they can loot monsters. If i predict Brad well enuf, i also suspect the TLC code will be very strict and basically 1 or 2 levels above the monster u are fighting and you wont get XP or loot at all. Preferbly Brad would of prolly loved to keep everyone level 1 but they had to atleast try to sell the product.
So i guess this finally puts the last nail in the coffin on this title for many of us, not only for many of us, but even on their own forums people are complaining (which says alot since theres basically only hardcore gamers on their site). D&D looks more like it will be "the MMORPG" to play in 2006 i predict. Vanguard will proberbly end up having to do what EQ had to do after WoW was released, and remove alot of the strict rulesets to keep it competitive with the competition. I don't expect this title to make much of a dent in Blizzards playerbase at all. Maybe even Brad has been paid off by Blizzard to make design flaws like this to keep the game from reaching competitive status? Who knows?

Spell check is your friend. I agree with trivial loot code, and I'll tell you why.
First let me express my gratitude that you won't be playing Vanguard, it means a lot to me. Trivial loot will slow down ebay farmers, limit powerlevelling/gearing, and all in all make for a better role playing experience.
Lame kills should not yield good loot. Have fun playing WoW!
no thanks, i would rather play a mmorpg with a persistant world....not just grind instances....thats why i quit playing wow

agreed... D&D is not looking so hot to me. Im having a hard time understanding where the hype is coming from for that game.
10 level max with mini dings in each level. Absolutely no crafting. Everything instanced. And finally auto generated PUGs...
doesn't look to promising to me - though I will at least give it a try as I can't say I like or dislike conecepts without at least trying them
Trivial Loot System is actually awesome. Since when is killing monsters that are no challenge to you 100s of times over just to farm their money very fun? Besides, how does anyone know money will be so hard to come by like it was in EQ? Money and decent gear isn't hard to come by in WoW and maybe Vanguard will follow that trend to a very limited extent of course because this game needs to be challenging.
The originial poster is just a trolling naysayer who probably holds a long standing grudge against EverQuest.
In general, I don't like TLC (especially if they solve the spawn camping problems), but it isn't a make or break deal for me. DAoC has it, and it is still a good game. I do think if they have random drop quest items, or crafting supplies drop off lower level mobs that those items should always drop though.
sorry to chage the topic on ya but the sooners are going down this weekend!!! go huskers!! hehe

Oooohhoonnoooo It's the dreaded TLC. Now I can't twink all my low level characters and make leveling a breeze. I can't give my Sword of the Godless to my level 5 fighter. What will I ever do. (btw this is supposed to be sarcastic)
TLC is a good thing. Don't let those high level Willrush4forgers and twinky farmers ruin the game for people who don't start on day one. Or who don't play 40 hours a week. Why would you need lower level equipment anyway, I think that since you can test out all the classes in the beginning that playing a second character would be useless. How bout we all the just play the game the way it is supposed to be played, no matter who we know, no matter what level our highest character is, no matter how much money we are willing to page ige(or ign).
And the Town Crier cryeth "Let there be a true and non-corruptable Looting Code in this good land!"
And the people of the forum said "Yeh," and feasted upon the lamb, and the ham hocks, and the cereal, and the fruitbats, and the orangutans.... and so on and so forth.
