I wish there was an MMORPG...

I wish there was an MMORPG that had skills like RuneScape's. The skills were so in depth and most skills helped or intertwined with others. It seems there are NO MMOs that are like this. All they focus on is combat. It really starts to get dull after while and feels so repititive.

What I would like for an MMO would be skills like this along with real time combat. Combat like in the Elder Scrolls games or even how TERA or RaiderZ is. Also there could be many minigames. Even RuneScape has some great Minigames. There is also random events. There is so much to do... but yet RuneScape lacks in combat and graphics etc...

Why is there not an MMO like this yet? It seems like this is the reason why there are so many WoW clones/1 month throwaway MMOs.

Im not sure what you're looking for. If you're trying to go that deep, you're looking for a sandbox mmo.

I tried runescape and i agree, everything is good, but the combat in that game. I also hate the grind, but i played f2p, so i couldnt take part in various quests to level up my character anyway.

So far, i can only ask you to look up for darkfall unholy war. Beta is starting 2morrow monday, but you must pre-order the game to play the beta version.

What DF as in common with RS:

Full loot on death(Difference, you cannot keep one item unless you banked them before you died)

A great crafting and economic system since you cannot keep what you are wearing for ever.

Skill system: You level up what you use from basic weapons(melee weps, staff, bows) to each spells and active skills from 1 to 100.

Difference: Wilderness every where. NPC cities are safe tho. There's also a newb zone around each starter city or each races.

    Combat is kinda like skyrim.

Apparently, the grind wont be too hard.

Its a pk focus game, different from pvp. PVP means that you expect it if you either chose a pvp server or when you enter a BG/arena... PK means that its totally part of the whole game and you may sneak or harass players untill they get tired of it and quit the game once and for all.

Siege: You may take over the world by taking control of every major player city with your clan, but for that to work, you must hire 300 players before every one in the server start getting mad at your clan tho.

    Mini games:

DF doesnt have that, but you can create them. For example, you can spawn a fun hulk and gather 20 players. You can spawn flags and goals. With that, you and your 20 friends may use your imagination to create a race track or a battle tank zone for fun.

Global event. I'm sure we will get a lot of them and it will be nothing like you're use to see in other mmo's since any outsiders can crash these events when ever they want and GM's dont have the right to do anything against these event crashers. The fun part in this is, everyone starts to respect each others to take out the event crashers.

I don't understand how that kind of game could make any money what so ever. I know people love PvP, hell the sheer number of FPS games out there like Call Of Duty attest to that, but those are completely different games. The idea of an RPG is progressing a character. If someone can just come along and wipe out all of your hard work, or prevent you from actually playing the game I just can't see it working out. Niche games are great, but mark my words, Darkfall is either going to completely bottom out, or they're going to make carebear servers.

Darkfall UW looks pretty good but I can't really afford a monthly 15 dollar fee right now. >_<

What I'm looking for is an MMORPG that has great social systems (I hate Map/World chat. I feel it takes a lot away from socializing), skills that you can train (excluding combat), real time combat (TERA, RaiderZ, Elder Scrolls), and some beautiful graphics. THAT would be an MMORPG I'd definitely play and pay for.

Thats the fun part, cuz you never want to be alone. Its an mmorpg and interacting, building trust with other players is a must, not only a choice. Every single players who used to play the old DF are use to programs like mumble and ventrilo because communicating is the most important aspect to survive and succeed and you wont have time to type in chat during combat.

Banks are unlimited so if you feel like you have too much to risk, you may run to the nearest bank to save your stuff. If you want to use your best items, you just need to be sure that you're surrounded with a good team. Also, nothing was too expensive in the old DF so it wasnt too hard to replace what you lose. The gap between cheap and expensive items was never too much either since 2-4 smart under-dev players can kill a veteran.

Also, what you were describing was these 2 games named Dayz and Warz. DF is nothing like that since you cannot just login and backstab a player to death. There's still a form of progression like any mmo. When i said that the grind wont be too hard for DF UW, i compared the grind to the old DF. It use to take 1-2 years to maxout a character unless you were a cheater. Now, it might take 1 or 2 months to make a competitive character.

As for the population and the decision of the game: DF is the most anticipated game and most ppl who hyped it knows what to expect. When the game got post-poned not long ago, the game had negative -14 hype and today, its back on top. The devs will not add a carebear server and so many players are still gonna play it.
