WoW at around the time of TBC, we had a VERY casual guild, mostly made of long time IRC friends, slowly making our way trough Karazhan, raiding 2 or 3 nights a week (calling it off if there weren't enough people online), joking around, calling it a day when we had been too long and so on. We had gotten to Prince Malchezaar for the first time and we managed to get him to about 40% health in one of our best attempts at it before we decided that we were done for the week.

Later, chatting on IRC, our guild leader (and IRC channel founder, and one of the nicest persons I've met on or offline.. I'll call him E just for his privacy's sake) was excited about how we had managed to get him to such low health and how we actually had a chance of killing him, we said good nights and off to sleep.

The next day we received some very bad news... E had had a heart attack and died that night. Most of us had been online friends for over 10 years at that point.

Several weeks later we managed to get the group back together for another karazhan run, we pushed trough, skipped all the optional bosses, and reached the prince again... as we stood at the door to where he was, someone yelled "FOR E!!!" and I charged in (I was the main tank., feral druid)... and we managed to down it (it took us several more weeks to kill him again), we all just stood there in his corpse yelling "THIS WAS FOR YOU, E!!!"... first (and so far only) time I've ever remember crying for a video game.

What can men do against such reckless hate?

A lot of "wow" moments came with SWG, which no other MMO has been able to do so far.

However, I think my main wow moment (so far) was being impressed with the rides on a Griffen, the way it smoothly soars across the sky. and above the land, with ripples of its wings against the wind, it seems so life like and beautiful. EQ2 has it similar, but not as smooth or lifelike.

The smoothness of the game is also breathtaking, very little jerkiness and lag comapre to other MMOs, and when WOW first launched I could only remember there being a handful of servers, but them looking at them a year or so later there were hundreds - I couldm't believe my eyes! Also a couple of years ago, the server I created my first characters on I could not create more as it was so full, and they are so full today too

I have not played WOW an awful lot, as I have been playing SWG mainly, and only got a few chars to 12-16, since its release, but I have bought all expansions except Pandaria so far. I planned on playing it loads this year as I bought the annual pass for Diablo 3, but too much real life stuff cropped up, so did not play much in the end, despite paying a sub all year. Now that I can cancel sub, I will not.

There is plenty of game to be had for me, and no doubt greater wow moments are to come. If I get a new "wow" moment within the week I'll post it on Facebook or Twitter

I will be happy with just standard edition of Pandaria. If I happen to get chosen for collectors edition, give it to the next person :)

My main moment is a very simple one. I was an Druid and was totally new to the game, i was yust doing my Darkshore quests etc. when i suddenly got Bear Form as a reward for one of the quests. I pressed the button and couldnt believe i could turn into a bear XD

took me 2 hours to realise this does not make the other bears friendly :D (neither does it let you mate them.. another set back XD )

I would love to win Mists of Pandaria, i havent bought it yet since i went on a small computerbreak before it got released. But im anxious to get back in again.

The first week of release, how exciting it was to get into game and experience this new world, when MMOs were still relatively fresh.

One of my favourite moments in wow and makes me laugh every time I think about it.  My first molten core raid I didnt think that I had to complete a quest to enter the raid.  So I jumped through the window and fell to my death.

My most favorite moment in Wow was during kharazan raid with my guildmates ( Amithian Knights). We were fairly new to this raid. We had more then efficient gear to do it but we decided not to rush and take our time and have some fun.

The whole time we talk and joke around about real life stuff while we raided. I never had such a fun time raiding than night. To me this is how raiding should always be ...have fun during the fights ... dieing alot and looking good while doing it. There was one fight when most of our gear was broken but pressed on still joke around.

There was no pressure ...no we need to hurry and finish this boss in X amount time or trying to get achievement. It was all about having fun and having a great time doing it. There was one fight I forget the boss it was the just before the chess event in the library. The whole raid was wiped and only me  ( the main tank - Draeni) and healer was left. We spent just us two for 10 mins fighting the boss and actually won the fight. The guild was roaring with laughter and cheers. Now was it epic i guess so but what surprise me the most ...we were joking around and laughing like " WTF ... haha how are we still alive?"

So in conclusion on this jovial time in WoW and I would like to say hello to my brothers and sisters in the amithian knights .... Malkire my friend how i miss playing with you.

Killing Ragnaros for the first time in vanilla, I died and was bouncing up and down in my chair cheering the rest of my raid on.  That momment is why I still raid all these years later, even with how much raiding has changed.  I am sad sometimes epics don't mean as much as they did then but I do like that more people get to particpate and see the content.  And I don't miss double drops of the same set piece that arn't needed or the massive undertaking it took to deal with a 40 man raid.

Best Moment was the pre WotlK zombie invasions. Killing your own faction and taking over your own towns/Quest hubs was the best it got. I've been playing WoW since vanilla and all the way up til Cata and this event still comes to mind. Have not played Panda yet, but I want to give it a try. Hopefully I can win and maybe have some of the same kind of fun I used to have. :D

My first "WOW" moment, and I'm pretty sure not only mine was the transition to Outland. When you first stepped to the blasted lands and saw the magnificient gates, there was no way that your jaw wouldn't drop. All the built-up till you could finally enter through the gates led to a fantastic expierience, that I'll always remember as one of the best when it comes to my history of gaming. I wish I had been part of WoW community back when AQ event was going on, unforunately, I wasn't :( However, Outland was open to everyone, even casual players like me, so I was glad and happy to have enjoyed it!

    same.

Then I realized I was having more fun playing solo and doing dungeons+raids solo. :)

My favourite moment in WoW was an event made by my guild "La Legión del Caos" in the EU "Tyrande" Server long time ago.... it was like the Olimpics but with never-seen-before sports!!!

We had a BLAST during the event that took 2 weeks to complete!!

I get nolstagia when watchin our video since some 2 of them already left this world, including the maker of the video...my beloved hunter friend "Yamaray"....

Good times always in my heart!

Here i leave a video of the event!!! It´s VERY funny^^ I hope you enjoy it & understand what i´m talking about :)

PLZ watch it! It´s very short...it was just made to advertise the event to guildies^^

That is what WoW is Best at : making Friends & having fun with them.

My favorite moment in WoW, thus far, was when I was in WotLK and raiding Naxx. We had just beaten Kel'Thuzad as we had several times before. It seemed like no matter how many times we fought him, the token for my helm (I believe it was?) would never drop. Then ... finally ... it did! Darn the luck, though, there was another character my same class in the raid and so we both rolled on it. My roll came through first and it was a (drumroll please): 2! "Well, it's over," I thought to myself. "There's no way I'll win it now." The other guy was laughing and just having a good ole time in chat; confident in his winnings. He finally, after several minutes of gloating, did his /random and rolled (another drumroll please): 1!  I had won with a roll of 2! I couldn't believe it, fell out of my chair, and had much rejoicing. It's a moment I'll not forget. :)

My absolute favorite moment in WoW started back when I didn't actually play it. It started when I walked into my fathers room to ask him something while he was playing the game. And as soon as I saw his computer screen my mind just went blank. I just stood there for a good ten minutes watching him play as a Dwarf Hunter, about level 7.  I was stunned. I loved the way the character moved, the way the textures looked and most important; how everything seemed to come together so beautifully. All I was thinking was 'I need that game!'

As soon as he noticed me standing there he asked me if I wanted to try it, I just nodded and kept watching. Later that day he gave me the account so I could explore the world of Azeroth on my own computer.  After I had downloaded the game I made a Night Elf Druid as fast as I could, just because they looked nice and seemed to be the most badass Race and Class combination. One thing I can say is that I did not get any sleep that night. That was my first all-nighter actually.

And as of today, I am still playing on that exact Druid, although it's level is somewhat higher.

My favorite, or at least most memorable, WoW moment was also the first time I played it. It was at a friends house, The Burning Crusade had just released. I was wondering about WoW, which he was talking about a lot, and he said: come, I'll show you. As I sat there I made a dwarf hunter and spawned, already excited about the pet and the gun. After a few quests he said: walk that way, and after a while I entered Ironforge. My mouth literally fell open as I said "Wow!".

    I don't even have pictures of people from 8 years ago let alone a Screenie to accompany anymore, but my favorite (or one that always come to mind);

Finally beating Nef back in Vanilla with my guild on Bronzebeard.  He was one of the baddest guys around at the time and it took a while for us to get it down since "spoilers" and gear weren't rampent back then.  I was lucky enough to be in one of the first guilds to take him down.

When we finally won, I just remember everyone going "crazy" (and posting all over the forums).

*shrug* Nothing overly special I guess, but it was great since we "really" had to work for it.

Long ago in WoW, groupped with few of my guildmates [fresh 60s, in greens from quests], I was running around Dustfallow March, becouse one of the lads wanted to show us big cave he found there. My GF was with us on her priest. And I knew other guys irl - we worked together.

So we found that cave, but couldn't enter. Asked in guild chat about the "raid" thing, and after few minutes of step by step instructions we were inside. Oh man!! Big patrolling elites blocking the corridor!

We figured we can't fight them without healer or tank [I played furry warrior back then lol] so out of curiosity, we decided to CC them and just run past them to see whats further down the corridor. Stealthed rogue went first to "stun" one. We follow asap with hunter cheetah aspect on. Suddenly rogue died and said "it didn't work", but we keep running - more elites down the road!

Few seconds later my GF is dead. Power words are still on 2 of us. Warlock and hunter are using pets to taunt mobs. We are closing to sharp left turn. Warlock pet is no more, 2 seconds later warlock is no more. Me and hunter still running, and then I see it - Big Red DRAGON in huuuge cave!!!! Bam - I'm dead. We shout on Team Speak - "Goooo Prezen Goooo" [Hunter's nick was Prezen]. Serious adrenaline rush in my body haha!! Hunter's bear died, and then Prezen pulled out his axe, and managed to HIT THE DRAGON before he was one shot killed. And all of us shouting "Yeeeaaaa, you did it !!!" Simply WOW moment.

After that, hunter was known as Prezen The Dragonslayer in our noobish guild.

And if someone said - guys, but he didn't KILL the dragon, he only HIT it. The answer was - Did you ?

Prezen was THE man in our guild for a long while, telling all the stories about dragon and stuff. Then he figured, if dragon can kill in 1 hit, we have better chances to attack from the distance next time. And then he bought his FIRST gun on the auction house :)

Back then I said - "yea, good idea". Now it's just another "WOW, lol" :D

    Edit :

I think it happened during TBC xpack, but we didn't have it at that time. We moved on to outland after cleaning all solo/small group content from vanilla. "Why buy xpack now, if we still have quests to do here?" - ah different mentality of noobs :D
