Well, GW, just, well, was boring. From day one, i knew, it was repetitive, not massive and almost no character coustomization. It would be a good thing is the devs of GW added some new classes, abilities, and a hot key bar for powers to be more than 8 powers on it.
I relly don't think there should be more skill slots, that's part of the character customization. If everyone could equip all skills there'd be much less diference between them. It's also part of the chalange, to find a build you like and that's effective

Or every other mmorpg on the face of the planet. You state yourself that this game is not an MMORPG, so I do not understand this statement.
Instancing is half the point of Guild Wars. If you don't like it, fine, but you can't possibly expect that suggestion to even be remotely possible. A revamp to allow less instances is possible.
Your rebuttle makes no sense. How does losing instances mean you must grind? Infact- you do as much of what you think I said in GW as it is now, and it is instanced. Go back to your flat-earth society and leave people who know what they are talking about alone- ass.
I began by reading all of the posts, but it quickly turned from the original focus of the post's idea and became a flamefest... However, as I am completely for this kind of discussion (throwing around ideas of potential improvement on the game), I will list my personal opinions on what could be changed for the better in GW.
Equipment / Items: Increase the number and variety of items and equipment in the game. Potions perhaps, for players who dont wish to tank Monk as a primary or secondary class (or use any class that has a health regeneration ability) and dont trust the heals of bots following them around. Increase the variety of armor and weapons to make characters more distinguishable for their efforts in the game, and seperate them from the monoty of looking like everyone else (changeable only by a vial or two of dye).
Armor: Allow armor or materials for armor to be obtained in more ways than salvaging/buying materials. I'm a big fan of crafting, and do support this option (of course, with the investment of more options for equipment being implemented first).
Pets: Make pets more controllable. Perhaps an interface window with pet commands, allowing you control over their target locations, who exactly they attack (for example; you would rather your pet attack one creature while you take down another, to minimize damage to yourself). Perhaps the following options would be a place to start: Attack, Stop Attacking, Go Here, Come To Me. Very general in a place to start, yet very helpful in multiple situations.
Character Creation: More options for customization, as in some of the higher marketed MMORPGs. Again, no real benefit to the game, but I know that the simple option to set yourself apart from the crowd is a big issue for many gamers. I have personally spent a great investment of time on some other MMORPGs that had countless options for character creation.
Skillbar: Though having the ability to only set and use eight skills at a time does test a great number of players to their actual skills in the game, a little larger skill bar might allow for a bit more diversity and enjoyment of questing, and even player versus player combat. This issue is widely disccusable, and very dependent on the individual player participating in such a conversation.
Servers: Add other servers with specific zone rules... Perhaps one that is true to the MMORPG esque, with open zones rather than instanced ones (including mob respawning). Perhaps another as the first I mentioned, but with open PvP, or one with no PvP. This would attract a great deal more in terms of various players, and still let the fans of the original set of GW rules stay on their classic servers.
Those are just a couple ideas off the top of my head. I only recently got back into the game, so cannot judge too much on the end game or anything around it. When I originally played, the highest level character I had was level eleven. I'm sure those who have played through the entire story with multiple classes and such would have much more input than this, and should deserve a more appreciated say.

EDIT: one new race sounds good!!!
I think it would be great if aliances could be made offical in game, mabe mat that guilds tag a different color like people in your guild, so you could play with members in your aliances without having to know the whole roster.
I think which most agree with that an Auction House would be a vast imporvement. I also wish it if were possible to create a few select areas maybe areas within the few major cities where anyone could enter to explore areas alone or together because it does get lonely and it's such a beautiful area. Probably would never happen but it would be nice to see other people as i traveled around.
It would like to suggest that a bigger introduction of rpg was implemented in the wars between guildas (sieges) that the game with caracterisitcas of pure PVP would leave less, or to kill only for killing (to only go up in ladder as in a FPS). The game for that vi have excellent graphs excellent I balance between the characteristics however it lacks depth in my opinion. A suggestion would be the introduction in sieges of areas of control that guildas would have that to conquer and with this they will go to gain skills new and bond in attack or defense depending on the area. Or either in the esrat

What I'd truly like to see somehow implemented in Guild Wars is a system whereby the players can actually influence the current status of the world.
I find it unfortunate that although the story covers a situation of multiple human guilds that have warred against each other and now battle against the Skaarj (can't remember the name properly at the moment), there isn't a system in the game that tracks the influence of the guilds on the world, or the influence of the Skaarj.
Perhaps a way to implement this would to actually have an AI engine built to play the monsters and have them form guilds to challenge the human guilds. I dunno - perhaps someone else can comeup with a better suggestion?
if you have finished all quests , you would know that there are some high level quests in droknar forge that change the monsters in lo level areas , you may find level 28 monsters out side lians arch or even near old ascalon .

How ironic, a few months ago, someone made this same suggestion in WoW. Needless to say, I had to explain to the poster why this would be a bad idea. New Players would be lost and wouldn't understand the story to follow it if other players could influence the world around them. With a million or so people playing this game, the social and geography atmosphere would change rapidly and drastically. The only thing player "karma" would contribute to is a mass exodus from GW to other MMORPGs as the events would change in favor of some and the rest would at a disadvantage or left in the dark.

You would have to rewrite the history of the story, which would confuse people. It's best to leave the storyline to ANET.

You know it scares me when idiots decide to use a row of periods to separate sentences instead of a space bar.

What I Want in the expansion or updates of Guildwars.
1.An extra class(confirmed)
2.an extra race (preferbably elf)
3.More types of armour.( rare ones that you can find with monsters, doesnt make sense when u BUY the best armour)
4.More character Creation slots.
5.a none instanced zone.(maybe a coompletely different district called Non-Instanced or whatever)
6.I agree with Saint. Maybe to be able to choose if ur pet should be aggresive , defensive, all rounded and u noe dat stuff.
I wanna see blacksmith class
I wanna see knights and mount pets and wanna see better sieges less FPS more RPG, castles or guild ares aliances etc...
EDIT: one new race sounds good!!!
personally i would like to be able to fight with anyone and anywhere. there shouldnt bea personal map, everyone should have their own.
Also higher lvls and more character spots
NEW LANDS IN AN EXPANSION
shooooom
about level cap , people like to show off , but level cap doesnt not fit skill knolage in guildwars ... so ...
imo they could put a emote like they have for rank , but for the number of skills .. since skills are the most important thing
rank for pvp , check ( imo doesnt say much about skill knolage , but its fair enoph )
amount of skills unlocked ... no one knows what others have.
450 skills is a lot to " grind " if you like that word.
