I can honestly say I can care less now about this game. Like all MMOs they get promoted 4 years in advance and then dissapear. I can care less now to play this game. I mean what is the point, the movies have been gone now for 2 years and this gam estill is still nowhere to be found.
LOL, whoever is making this game scares me. For it to take them this long only means they are having problems that I dont want.

I am getting really tired of ignorant people writing stuff like this. You are judging a game that you have never played, and I really think that if people stop bellyaching over stupid things then maybe they would be able to enjoy a game that has obviously been put a lot of effort into. Yeah, it is taking a while....and thats probably what will make it a better game. These people are putting im a lot of time to try and please as many people as they can, and still it'll never satisfy every single person out there.
So please if you dont like it just move on and let others enjoy it.

Perhaps if you took a look at what's been done with the game, and where its come from, you wouldn't be so quick to judge.

EQ2 took 5 years before it went live.... And look how good that did. If you are too impacient to wait for a game to be made, then maybe you should play a different one in the meantime, or just stop playing games in general...
PERHAPS reading comprehension isnt your thing either. I said that I was tired of people like you who are saying that it isnt a good game because blah blah blah. I didnt mean to be rude...and maybe you didnt say it, but you did somewhat imply it. Anyways, all I ever see in these forums is people complaining because their expectations are way too high. Anyways, yes, it was being talked about for a few years but its not really that much of a long time...unless you're the one who happens to live in your mothers basement with nothing to look forward to but a videogame that still needs to be made.

Anyways, I think the game will be well worth waiting for.
As the other poster said its been like 6 years, and that is my beef. My point is that I have waited so long for this game that now I have moved on to other games. I understand nor am I saying others should NOT play or wait longer, it was my opinion that this game is taking way to long, like many MMOs imo.
I understand it is more based on the books, but the movies is what spurned this game.
The original MEO (The one not developed by Turbine, but where Turbine got the concept from) was in development before the movies. The movies have had no influence on this game.
And just for reference, Turbine officially announced development on MEO back in May 2003. Lord of the Rings Online (which we have been told to refer to as a new game, but similar to MEO) has been in development for less than a year, since it began its development in March 2005. So if you count MEO and LotRO together, the game has been in development for over 2 years. If you could LotRO seperate like you should since the game is alot different now, it has only been "officially" in development for just over 7 months.
Again, if any of you nay-sayers would bother to look where the concept for this game has come from, you wouldn't be so quick to judge.
The idea for a MMO based in Middle-Earth has been picked up and subsequently dropped by several different developers. The current iteration has itself gone through two different changes. The single largest cause of all of so called delay has come from one source: The Tolkien Estate.
The Estate holds ALL rights to all of Tolkien's works, and is very quick to pull the plug on a project that doesn't meet to the Estate's standards.
Think about that for a little bit please, before going off half-cocked.

This is true Slaggg....The Tolkien Estate does indeed hold rights to most of Tolkien's works which is why Mr. Peter Jackson cannot begin on his work for The Hobbit. To those who do not know what he speaks of, just take a look and do a quick search for the information, there you will find that it is not as easy as it sounds to develope a game and pour the love into it at a level that will satisfy those at Tolkien Estate. I mean, just look at the posts for even speaking about the developing stages and what they wish to have and not have for gaming purposes and you will recieve an opinion from everyone who posts. Now, be that DEV. and satisfy every one of those who control the level of quality and expectations the Estate has.....not too easy if you ask me. I salute them for attempting to take on such a large challenge as this. Take your time I say, so when we do get to walk in Middle Earth.....it will be that much better. But, that is just my opinion.....

I know it was 3am when you wrote it. I know you had just got done pleasuring yourself to animal porno, I realize you had nothing better to do, that's fine. To clear some Information up this game was in devevelopment a while ago however the company orginally making it got debunked so the game was in limbo for about a year. Turbine picked it up however they had to basically start from scratch.
So in fact this game has been worked on for a few years with concepts borrowed earlier.
Please inform yourself before making comments...
And if you want people to take you seriously dont use the word GAWD in a the subject.
