I stopped playing about two months ago. I don't think there was anything specifically wrong with the game, rather, I think I just got too busy for it. I don't think the game is that great.

I am looking to get back into it. Mostly, because the game doesn't have a subscription fee and there isn't anything else that's grabbing my attention.

    • I tried the the new WoW expansion, but the questing is so linear now. It always was, but it's even worse now.
    • I tried to get back into Vanguard, but the game lags too much and the animations are horrible. I like the idea of Vanguard with the huge world, and deep crafting system, but the horrible implenation killed it for me.
    • I gave Rift another try. The game still has bad animation, but wasn't all that bad. The game felt lonely though. Just not many people to play with.
    • Tried Tera. It's pretty, but the controls feel disjointed. It's something that I should've spent more time playing though. I think it's only $5 now too.
So, with that said, I'm going to lean on GW2 for the time being. Mostly because it doesn't require me to invest any cash into it.

Rangers recently got a lot of fixes so i've been doing some spvp, nothing serious.  Looking forward to doing tournaments again.

TSW typo maybe?  (it's actually B2P, but still...)

They just went free to play.

Edit: Maybe you still have to buy the box version...idk.

The game is a conglomerate of failed concepts. Casters are forced to melee, Necros aren't Necros, Rangers aren't Rangers, the weapons=skills system is weak, the conditions-system doesn't work, pets don't work, DR punishes players and refuses any loot for days, lack of holy trinity turned out to be a cheap excuse for poorly executed classes/traits, same-o-same hearts and DEs in every zone are a cheap excuse for a decent quest and leveling system, events are a mess, etc. etc.

Since i stopped playing, i still kept on following patches and forums and came to the conclusion that ANet doesn't only have no clue how to handle/ fix/ balance classes, but almost ANYTHING in the game.

Loot, economy, DR, DEs, classes, traits... everything is a mess in game -just as PR, community management, communication and customer treatment is outside.

And with the recent heavy drift towards the item shop (Hello Nexon and Crystin Cox), this game will never be any better.

You didn't really play the game.

So much fail in your statements.

Returned to GW2 when Wintersday started. I'm mostly doing dailies. Finished my karma armor set and other exotics, now trying to farm for crafted armor set. No word for any future expansions or content, so soon will probably get bored/discouraged to continue playing.

    Cheers.

This game provides everything DaoC could not in terms of RvR, everything SWTOR couldnt in terms of guild events and everything NO game could do in terms of helping friends of lower level by making it so we can PLAY TOGETHER no matter the level and be on the same footing.

    No subscription.

No laughable paytrap/freemium crap failed subscription games are pulling by trying to call themselves F2P.

Fewer traditional MMORPGers that drag a game down because that cant handle a game that isnt inside the box most MMOs are in...all while still complaining MMOs are lacking originality...

I will take that any day of the week.

I dont know if u are being sarcastic. I mean, u are talking about all the things that GW2 doesnt have. you must be sarcastic.

Maybe you should switch servers. i know some that the guilds die, but on a more popular server, it much more than that. You seem to not play, yet. If you came to that conclusion. Since, what he stated is what GW2 DO have. Troll much?

    WvW

playing between 1-8 hours a day depending on the day.

since the holidays closer to 8 :P

game is extremely imperfect but will stick around indefinitely until better pvp comes along or i get sick of MMOs.  that could be a long time or it could be months from now.

Yes. Perhaps not every day as I don't have the time for that but I am still playing.

I do a bit of everything: I do a daily or a monthly, explore the map, go kill a world boss, do some dungeon, go to WvW, level my alt or just chat or roam around with my guild for a while. And when there's a new content update, like there is now, I do that.

Never argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.

I don't play everyday anymore, but that's just an added plus. No need to plan your life around a game. When I play, I play what I want to play. Tons of toons, a very large world, new events to be discovered from the first time around. This game is just getting better and better.

I got bored way before I was even close to consuming 1/3 of the content.  Got two characters to around 40, and a bunch of others to the mid teens, before I stopped playing.  Its been well over 3 months now since I last logged in.

Is a man not entitled to the herp of his derp?

Remember, I live in a world where juggalos and yugioh players are real things.

No GW2 it is acually a scam if advertised as B2P, it is more like a F2P Slot machine + P2WIN shop

Aside the fact that you can buy gold with cash, with what you could buy mats to level 1 to 80 through crafting without killing one single mob , then buy the best gear, even legendaries, which should be the top-most game acheivement (P2WIN), but have you ever tried playing without buying even one bank slot upgrade? (F2P)

  • SetsunSetsun Member UncommonPosts: 286

    lol^

Yes i still play, mostly Dungeons and Achievment hunt with my Guild.

High level Fractals and getting best in slot gear with my main, on my alts i do WvW, level professions and try to make some moneh.

    Just like in any mmo.

No GW2 is B2P as in you can't play it without buying the game itself.

And its true someone could spend gobs of money and not actually hardly play the game.  Do you honestly think a lot of people do that?  Because they seriously don't.  Mostly I would imagine because you don't typically buy a game not to play the thing.  Despite all this, you can get legendaries and all the best stuff simply by playing, which most people obviously do.  You also fail to mention that gems can be bought with in game currency.  You can unlock character slots and even bank slots just by playing the game.

Yes, I play the game without ever buying a bank upgrade slot and I still have plenty of room.  I have an 80 charr thief, a 62 norn warrior, and a 51 asura elementalist.  No problem so far at all.

No GW2 is B2P as in you can't play it without buying the game itself.

Indeed for this very reason it is a scam, because you pay a box price to play an F2P unfeatured game: little bank slots, few character slots.... please open your eyes!

Yes it is true, and the majority of the players think like you do in their own each individuality and there only they stand correct.

The problem arise when a horde of these kind of people flood the game economy.... then the gem price, being a trade, will continue to rise in time because of an high and rising demand opposed to a little supply from another minority of people, who really buy the gems with cash and re-sell the remaining from their needs to all the rest of the population, mostly thus people which believe or behave economically like you. And the gem price will rise and rise faster untill it will not be feasible anymore to buy them through gold. (http://www.gw2spidy.com/gem)

But don't worry ANet can rise itself the price of Gems, with time limited sales of items, like during seasonal events, to create an artificial higher demand, and also by some other shady means...

Meanwhile... the goldsellers are already undercutting ANet itself.

Yes, I play the game without ever buying a bank upgrade slot and I still have plenty of room.  I have an 80 charr thief, a 62 norn warrior, and a 51 asura elementalist.  No problem so far at all.

Simply can't believe that. With 3 characters... then you surely could not afford to buy gems with gold.

I voted No.  Been playing GW1 or other games Ive bought of GOG.  Yes I did jump on 3x through out the Wintersday stuff going on, so I did claim my new bag and made a mini plush griffon (I do agree its cute).  But yea... I guess I can say I stopped playing a month or 2 ago.

Nah the game failed like every other MMO out there has done since WoW.

    SWTOR failed

    GW2 failed

    PS2 failed

I think they all will, after Diablo 3 even Blizzards new MMO possibly could. A game needs to come along that offers something so different to what has been done before, like Minecraft and Dayz just came along and were massive hits.

Swtor failed. But in which sense? As I know is still 2nd for sub numbers even if much much below wow. I guess this can be called success. Game has not become what it could because of "profesional" bashers. Not only swtor of curse. Some people just find some kind of sick satisfaction to bash games they do not like or think do not like, instead of enjoying games. But they do not enjoy ANY game at all. They enjoy just bashing all games.
