Hi,
I'm looking for a new game to try and was hoping for some ideas and sujestions please.
I'd like the game to be fantasy style with good crafting revolving around the items I need to use and my house plus the items inside the house to be crafted.
I dont really want the worry of being killed every 5 minutes out in the wild so no full loot pvp.
Nice GFX would be a bonus with some good adventure quests and nice world to explore. Does this game even exist?
After doing some reading my thoughts trend toward EQ2, good idea?
Thanks.

Vanguard: Saga of Heroes might be something you'd want to check out.
There isn't a "right" or "wrong" way to play, if you want to use a screwdriver to put nails into wood, have at it, simply don't complain when the guy next to you with the hammer is doing it much better and easier. - Allein

When had you tryed it last , they have fixed alot over the years many folks get better perforance now than they did at launch?
About 4 months ago. Only got to lvl 3 due to bad lag spikes.
I can't say anything about Vanguard, because I never managed to get it to run (it crashes). I was about to suggest EQ2 when I saw the title, and I see you've already thought about it.
EQ2's crafting system may not be as complex as it was years ago, but perhaps that's a good thing. It's a kind of mini game that can waste a bit of time. Finding the story quests in EQ2 after the starting levels can be a little hard, but there are friendly people on the forums who can help with that. I'd suggest that you join a guild, as that can be really good for crafting (for getting materials and your crafting can help others). There are lots of different houses, but they either cost real money or have a game money rent, which I find annoying (for a very casual player like me).
One thing about EQ2, spending some real money can really make things nicer, in particular a Silver "subscription" (it's a one time payment) is much better than the default. The trick is getting the most SC (SOE money) for your dollar, and that's done by waiting for triple SC days (or if you're impatient, the double SC ones). There are also occasional sales on the store, so you can get stuff (such as housing) for fewer SC.
Thats some real nice advise thanks. If I end up playing offen I may just sub, but I too am a casual player.
So there is no idication at all to find the main story quests?

I've read some raving reviews on Rift's new housing system called "Dimensions", so I advise you read up a bit on that, too.
I've also seen a few really interesting videos on player dimensions, too. Here's one (actually, two): http://www.gamebreaker.tv/video-game-shows/tuesdays-top-dimensions-3/
The starting areas of EQ2, which are level 1-20, are basically all story related. Once you pass that I found it hard to discover the story lines. You go to new areas, and they have some conflicts and story, but they also have a lot of "I'm too lazy to do it myself" quest givers. I don't think there's an overarching story line which continues over all levels.
By the way, when it comes to crafting you have to become more specialised as you go up in levels. If you want a wide variety of crafting (furniture, clothes, food, ...) you'd have to create a few characters for that. This can be nice, as they can make things for one another, and transfer them through the shared bank (assuming you're at least Silver).
By the way, if you buy Age of Discovery you can also create dungeons, and you can furnish them, as well as put mobs there. People have created some very nice one. You will also get access to tradeskill apprentices, which will give you more recipes.
If you can wait a few months FFXIV's re-release will have a very in-depth housing system that's heavily crafting dependent. You can even raise chocobos in your own stable and then take them into battle with you.
