Out of all the MMORPG’S that are coming out.

There is only one that is close to what I want in a MMORPG.

Now like a few of us I have played lots of MMORPG’S

There are few I have not tried. But most I have if I have not I have watched someone play it for hours.

I run an internet gaming café. Yes a cyber café.

I also have been a big fan of D&D seeing there is a Pin and paper D&D shop next door.

But from what I have seen of DDO. Its just not the next MMORPG that I am going to be playing. Too many reasons to list here, and do not want to seem like I am slamming this game.

But the best reason is because of a game that has everything I have been looking for is being made right now.

A friend told me about it and well at first glance I was like man thats junk, DDO is going to kick its but. But again after looking a DDO I was vary upset with it.

Then I set out on a quest to look for the MMORPG that had everything I wanted. I made a list of all the things I wanted in a MMORPG.

One I wanted something new. But not just another MMORPG a new type of MMORPG and I found it.

This game has everything I have been looking for almost exactly how I wanted it.

Where players can build castles and cities, and where NPC and other players can attack your castles and cities.

Where there is big open places, and vary few instanced zones.

Where if you brake the law there is a crime and punishment system.

Where there will be different rule sets on different servers so you can pick PVP or NON-PVP, Looting server or a non looting server.

Where if you kill another player on your side of the war you will be hunted by a bounty system that includes NPC and players.

When you’re caught for killing or pick pocketing. There will be some jail time served.
In a prison system that still lets you play but just with other player killers.
untell you have served your time how ever long it is. depends on how bad you have been.
(to give the law abiding players a chance to play the game with out on going grief.)

Most of all a new combat system.
Where you can create combos where you have to really doge the incoming attacks. Where you can not just run through a wall of tanks protecting your casters/archers you have to move around to there flank.

With siege towers and battering rams you build/craft and use to take out the enemies castles.

lots of crafting.

And all this is going to be in one MMORPG

Yes AoC does look brilliant and I may well end up playing it.  I particularly like the fact that the first 20 levels are solo only as I have had real problems with low dealing with other players' low level characters in the two MMOs I have played (WoW until I got to 58 and Eve from 1 month from launch).  It will also satisfy the darker side of fantasy (Conan, Grey Mouser, Thieves World) that seems to be missing in a more good v evil based time.  One of the problems I have with Dark & Light is that it continues one or another choice that AoC will avoid.

However, I am also looking at DDO because of its initially mature player base (a similar advantage that AoC may have).  I was surprised when I saw posters on their forums showing a maturity that just has not been shown on the WoW or Eve forums.  And even though I first played D&D over 20 years ago I am still a youngster to some of the DDO crowd (a rather good feeling for an old fart like me).

My only concern is that in a very competitive fantasy market with more recent selling tags (Lord of the Rings, previously Middle Earth was one I was considering until they decided to drop the Eve style development system) this game may get dropped just as Warhammer was.  On a side note I am fascinated by the drunken bar brawling part as one of my favourite ever PnP characters was a brawler in Warhammer.

if you been to the DDO website you probly seen my posts there lol.

and if you want to try DDO out i might be able to swing that.

so far i am vary disapointed in there not even thinking about PVP. seeing i have played PVE for so many years. And if they do add it in later it will not be as good if they had worked it in all the time. there is also the fact that its not going to have the killer raids in DDO. its all going to be about small groups. and it is really heavly instanced. now i played EQ when it was in its best times. to bad its all over SOE pulled the plug on looting in PVP. and now lost so many people that out of 6 pvp server there is only one running with hardly anyone there. yes this was before EQ2 and WOW came out.

now the only thing BAD about PVP is the people that just keep killing you over and over for fun. but in AOC this will not happen vary much seeing the ones that do that will now be hunted and put in a prison system where they can not harm lawful players for several hours. this is going to let you have lots of fun and still have a risk of being killed and looted. also the fun of killing and looting. with out the Grief of being killed over and over by some punk.

AOC is what i feel will be one of the best MMORPG's out there. when i frist heard about it i was like phffff. now after reading everything i can and puting my ideas out there for them to look at and they do look and reply to them. i think AOC is going to be my home for years to come.

    wish it was out now.

Check out Twilightwar aswell www.twilightwar.com , it has tons of the points that you wanted in an mmorpg that you listed,  but it isnt coming out till 2007, so until then AoC looks like the game for me aswell image

looks cool and a HL2 source MOD at that.

i really like the med-evil time line in a RPG. not much on the futuristic ones. did play some SWG but that is starwars.

i will have to keep my eye on that one. i really like the HL2 source engine

It is but it released 6 months too early. If they had waited the game would have gotten a lot better treatment in the forums.  The new zones we seen in movies like Ymirs pass and OT common district looks really good and the revamped dungeons are a big uppgrade from the initial ones.

It will be intresting to see what the game will look like next year. But the question is if WAR will take a lot of AoCs players or not, it's anybodys guess. But it seems like Mythic are in a hurry to release also.

But it's not the only intresting, Spellborn and Guildwars 2 are comming and they both are very promising. What I seen of WAR is a dissapointment to me, I love  the old Warhammer fantasy roleplaying game and I'm not happt about what I seen so far. It doesnt make it a bad game but it's like watching a movie after you read the book if you get my point.

I laughed until I looked at the date... The same week I unlocked my Jedi, and SWG was still a good game...

Tried: LotR, CoH, AoC, WAR, Jumpgate Classic
    Played: SWG, Guild Wars, WoW
    Playing: Eve Online, Counter-strike
    Loved: Star Wars Galaxies
Waiting for: Earthrise, Guild Wars 2, anything sandbox.

Alright....man i hate raining on peoples parade....but reading your post I can tell your an experienced gamer and not a teen who takes everything a lil too hard. Let me just say there is a reason why they call it Age of Crap and I am certainly not going to tell you what's wrong with the game. Why? Because it has been said on these forums over and over and over again! So i'm going to leave that up to you to do the research. I do recomend you research the game before playing it because it is a waste of money to alot, I mean ALOT of people. If you love the game great but the game has sooo many problems and its done sooo badly that I do not suggest playing it at all. I did....and regret it fully, although after playing the game I have a different opinion about the game and I can warn you because of it. Unless you have a good group of friends that will play the game with you and like the game, I suggest you just don't bother with the game.

But don't just take my word for it read the forums!!!!!
