It's simple. there are 7 billion people in the world. 3.5 are men which are by far the biggest consumers of online gaming. of those about 2 billion are asians, and the majority of them want to play with what they never see in RL: half naked young girls with big boobs.

I couldn't agree more. Personally I don't see an attraction in animated characters whatsoever. I mean they aren't human they are just little animated characters, I am unable to look at an animated charater and call it attractive. It just doesn't work. So the over sexualisation of these characters just pisses me off tbh, and heck if people want to watch hentai porn they'll watch hentai porn. They aren't gonna pay a large sum of money for a computer game for this reason.

I feel you man. Its the biggest turn off for me from Asian Games. Skimpy outfits and huge honking swords. So unrealistic it hurts. Chainmail Bikinis and telephone Poles for weapons. Pfft yea right.
Please..don't know about you but i play games, mmos in particular, to get away from reality. The bigger the weapon and the smaller the outfit the better
But there's plenty of fantastaical elements in any Western MMO to give the player an escape from reality without going pedobear or silly like the eastern culture.

Its not just Asian MMOs, pretty much all MMOs present women this way and if they don't there would be an outcry from their male players demanding sexier looking characters. This is pretty much what happened with The Secret World as I recall because of their relatively realistic looking female characters.

Just look games like LOTRO, that's descent dressing. WOW have some kind of specific cartoonish style and yes ''huge shoulderpads'' but female characters are dressed nice and normal. This girls in Asian mmo's are not dirty and barbaric like in AOC, they look so ''Fashionable'' so unrealistic

He gets disappointed by booby sexy girls in games he wants to play while i get disappointed to find out games i want to play are only point and click. Point is, The variety is out there, play what you like and forget what you dont like. That doesnt mean it has to stop when there is an audience for each of them.

I just recently and extensively played my first Asian MMORPG (Uncharted Waters Online). So I get where the OP is coming from. And I'm not completely clueless. Ive seen a some anime/manga/hentai too. But my inclination is more to laugh rather than be offended by it. Yet it can somewhat detract from my immersion in a game...
Still, this to me is more like a lot of members here sometimes say about graphics. What really matters is the gameplay. And if that's good, then I'm willing to forgive a little Asian weirdness.
UWO doesn't do the whole ridiculously-oversexualized females bit.
But of course, any game that Koei makes should not be taken as representative of anything other than games that Koei makes. They live in their own universe and basically ignore the entire rest of the industry.
