I currently play wow on my mac because that's all I have right now and I cant afford to buy a new PC. Its a couple of years old, regular mac book, but i run wow just fine. Question is do you folks think it will run GW2 just fine?
hard to say without system specs. gw2 is toted as being built for medium ranged pc's i believe, but even my high end rig has some issues in WvW or very busy dynamic events out in the world.
Will it run? probably. Will it run well? Doubt it.
The Mac client is still a beta and I've heard it has some performance issues. You'd probably be able to play the game alright on lower settings, if you installed Windows via Boot Camp. However, performance would be poor in highly populated events.

youre right sorry about that, intel core duo 2.4 nvidia 320m 4gs of ram and more than enough hdd space. I am able run wow on nearly ultra.
I was looking over the specs that arena posted on their website about wht works and even though mine doesn't say "i5" it does have the same specs as some of them that work. I just wish there was a way to try it before i spent the 60$.

GW2 is heavy intense on CPU power you might be able to play it on low with 15-30 fps.
hey thanks good idea, I will have to get the new os for my mac and the game so if they are willing to refund me if it doesnt work, thats pretty awesome.
ill shop around, hopefully they would be a bit more understanding since its in Mac beta still and I am willing to invest some money to see if it works. I will have to update to the new OS and the game. That's why I have to wait til next week. I am pretty excited though, playing a new mmo always feels like christmas.
good news is I just looked around the official forums on the gw2 website, i cant post there but I can read the mac forums, and apparently several people have the exact same laptop I have updated to the new OS and are getting decent FPS. So it should be good, Im even more excited.
ya i really didnt pay attention to it while it was being devoloped because I was all stoked about swtor which as everyone knows failed horribly. I started playing wow again simply because my PC fried and it was the only mmo I enjoy playing that's on the mac. After I saw you can play GW2 on the mac I became interested. Not only that, ESO will be playable on a mac. Finally the game companies understand that mac players like mmos too.

If it's not broken, you are not innovating.

All of my posts are either intelligent, thought provoking, funny, satirical, sarcastic or intentionally disrespectful. Take your pick.
I get banned in the forums for games I love, so lets see if I do better in the forums for games I hate.
I enjoy the serenity of not caring what your opinion is.
I don't hate much, but I hate Apple© with a passion. If Steve Jobs was alive, I would punch him in the face.
Awesome!
Problem is, now you have to play it. Ew :P

Contrary to your trollish behavior, GW2 is a very good game and pretty damn fun to boot!
Sandbox means open world, non-linear gaming PERIOD!
Subscription Gaming, especially MMO gaming is a Cash grab bigger then the most P2W cash shop!
Bring Back Exploration and lengthy progression times. RPG's have always been about the Journey not the destination!!!
