Has anyone seen this sandbox game?

Over the years I have played, many, MANY games, WoW, Starcraft, OpenTTD, Team Fortress 2, CS 1.6, LoL, and the list goes on and on and on. I have enjoyed every last minute of all of them, killing, gibbing, assisting, etc. But there is one thing that lack for certain in any game, that is do WHATEVER you WANT, literaly anything at all, from making a toilet and pooping in it to killing and gibbing.

In Topia Online you get to do this, and MORE the game should be called do whatever you want game...

This is an MMORPG where you script your own things, not a single-player game, an MMO! How cool is that? every little thing you make affects the entire breathing world around you. The truth is, Topia Online is an MMORPG that properly simulates a realistic eco-system. We are not talking about cosmetic customization we are talking the real deal with this, you can make your own art assets and your own scripts, and basically make the game with the devs. Have you seen any other game similar to this? I think NOT.

More information about this amazing up-coming game can be found here: http://www.mmorpg.com/gamelist.cfm/gameId/900/Topia-Online.html

Except for that whole issue when you get a semi organized group of people together whose entire intent is to troll or ruin the fun of the rest of the playerbase. Say like Goonsquad. This game is going to be a disapointment for the same reasons that Second Life is, there are no rules. As soon as you make everyone godlike you don't give anyone room to grow.

I did battle with ignorance today, and ignorance won.

To exercise power costs effort and demands courage. That is why so many fail to assert rights to which they are perfectly entitled - because a right is a kind of power but they are too lazy or too cowardly to exercise it. The virtues which cloak these faults are called patience and forbearance.

But then the game encourages you to make laws, there is also going to be a head hunting system, where you put someones name and a price, if you kill him you the money, getting rid of toxic players won't be so hard IMO.

Sounds awesome. Goons typically can't deal with peramadeath PvP. One death and they usually rage quit. It is carebear no consequences PvP that leads to griefing because anti social types can do whatever they want in those games and nothing ever happens to them. Throw in permadeath and now their actions will suddenly have consequences.

Unthinking mindless botters could be a problem though.

If you mean bots spamming ads for websites and such then they can easily be taken care of, fight them, capture them, throw them in jail, or outright kill them. If by bots you mean resource gathering bots, that's the whole point, you'll have hirelings you can program to do tasks for you. You should even be able to program yourself so when you log off, your character still does stuff, as they are never logged out of the game.

Very cool.  Nope, haven't seen anything like it.  Now on my watch list.

Permadeath means Mandatory gank. It will be popular with socialist guilds until that's all that's left and there isn't anyone left to gank.

That would be my projected future for it anyway.

Well maybe but here's always going to be new players, which means there will always be stragglers...
