Girly game recoomendation required

Hi all.
Im looking for an MMO for my girl to play. The requirements she makes are the following:
-No sci-fi, fantasy or other unrealistic setting.
-No combat
-Focus on avatars and their customizability
-Not neccesarily for free but at least a free trial

If anyone knows of a good MMO which fits the description then i would appreciate any reccomendations.

Second Life, maybe? I don't know much about it but I understand it's very girly.

Second Life is vile; the community that is.  Its full of virtually horny people.  There are something like 200 red light districts in a very small area.  If you want a game for a girl, Second Life isnt it.

oops... sorry about that! I didn't mean to suggest your girlfriend should hang out in the red light district! eek! The Sims it is, then!

ATITD is a very clever, intelligent game. However, it doesn't have a lot of choice as to how you look... there is no real character customisation. It's a great game if you enjoy crafting, puzzles, and artistic endeavours. I'm not sure I'd call it a 'girly game'... maybe a hippy game? I don't know, it's hard to put in to those sorts of catagories. I know several people, both male and female, who are very addicted to it.

Another game that a lot of women like to play is SWG.  I know she said no combat and no sci-fi, but maybe she could go outside of her comfort limits and give this one a shot.  She doesnt have to fight, and it has an extremely good crafting/character customization system.

What Doobster says is true. You never have to fight in SWG at all, if you don't want to. You can just do tradeskills and crafting. You can be a dancer or other sort of entertainer... you become a master in changing other's appearances... you can make clothing, for yourself and others. There are all sorts of things to level up in that never even take you near combat. The tradeskills you specialise in are also very useful to other players, even those who are involved in combat, which is rather nice, too.

If she becomes a dancer, however, tell her to keep her "slap" emote handy. ::::19::

    Hi.
    Thanks for all the suggestions.
-Oz online is a possibility, although it seems to have been very crudely localized from asia.
-The Sims online I've heard nothing but bad things about so far. Has anyone here played it and liked it? (She is an avid fan of the offline games though)
-Second life is out for reasons explained above :P
-A tale in the desert would count as "unrealistic" and as such does now qualify.
-SWG fails for the same reasons. She is very unflexible on this point, although of course if she is introduced correctly to MMOS she might branch out later ;)
-ToonTown Online and Disney's Virtual Kingdom??? Come on, shes a girl, not a kid :P

    Thanks again, everyone that contributed

How is A Tale in the Desert unrealistic? I haven't played it but it's my understanding that the game takes place in ancient Egypt. How is a historical game unrealistic? It's hard to be more realistic than something based on real history.

I played The Sims Online beta and found it extremely boring.

Oz World is okay its a small game so you don't find many peedos or perves on it so I would reccomend that if your girl is little... So Oz hmm check the Game List for the Link and screen shots its a good game...

Also Disneys Virtual Magic Kindom is good my little sister plays it...

The Sims Online would seem to be to only one that is both realistic and devoid of combat.

Sounds like she has some unrealistic expectations for a game.

Listen Asmodeeus, seven years ago, Ultima Online didn't even have those pathetic "quests" that you refer to or those "professions" of ninja, samurai, necromancer, and paladin. Nor did it have any of the neon crap, or bug mounts. It didn't even have any "combat moves." You turned on attack and jousted with simplistic swings. It was a better game then. if you can't guess why then just uninstall the thing and move along. - Crabby

I didn't mean to say ATITD wasn't historically accurate or such. What I mean is that its enviroment isn't the modern world. this is something that is very important to her.
Looks like OZ will be the game of choice then :)

Nah. A lot of people have mentioned some good ones to fit her specifications. But whatever you choose, don't choose Furcadia. That's the worst game I've ever played in my entire life. It's no more than exploring a graphical chat room, picking up pillows, dropping them, walking around a bit, talking, and completing puzzles. I'd much rather play Puzzle Pirates in all truth. Oh yeah, and there are some places in it that aren't suitable for kids nor for the sane of mind...

You probably won't like it as it's probably defined as fantasy, and the avatars can't be changed a lot, but Puzzle Pirates is one amazing game.

I played it for a while. It was simplistic, but (and despite its corny atmosphere) I enjoyed working aboard a ship even though I never got payed much for it because I always sucked at the puzzles. I'd still rather play a game like HJ or AC1.

    Sims Online.
Although it's a bad example of an MMO game, it'll get her used to the idea of online games and act as a launchpad to other MMOs.

    MMO Fav List:
    Lineage 2 | 5x Silver Ranger, 7x Shillien Elder <- Active
    WoW | 6x Rogue, 1x Priest
    Anarchy Online | 8x MetaPhysicist
Saga of Ryzom | Matis Light Armourer

Waiting for: Age of Conan, Lineage 3
