regarding polls

I love this site. Very informative, and the forums are generally entertaining....well, when I'm at work they seem that way. ::::01::

The one thing that bugs the crap outta me though is the WAY you give the choices for some of these polls.

Example:
"Out of all of these --fill in the blank--, which are you MOST looking forward to?"

A good example is the one on the page for me currently:

Which of our top six most hyped fantasy games, as of April 28th '05, do you anticipate most?
Dark & Light
Dungeons & Dragons Online
Hero's Journey
Vanguard: Saga of Heroes
Lord of the Rings Online
Gods & Heroes

I enjoy poll participation, and this type always gripes me as it doesn't offer the NONE OF THE ABOVE option.

Some of us actually LIKE where we "live" currently and aren't looking for the next new uber l33t pwnzer thing, OR we don't see anything of interest in the poll.

Don't take this as a rant, but when doing a poll, it always interests me in the results to see who isn't always looking for that next new thing. ---using the top example.

Of COURSE we can skip, but to me a poll is requesting a metric, and if its one of the first things seen when coming here, there should be that metric for those who don't like the choices given.

    Well man. Some people just make very very bad polls. Not necessarily bad, but too many options to fit into one poll. Take the Energy Drink topic in the Off-Topic Discussion. There is more Energy Drinks than mentioned in the poll and most was a little upset about it. All opinionated polls need a "other" option.

    Just to clarify, I DID mean the official site polls on the home page. We're in agreement I think though Rikimaru_X. ::::01::
