I have not been very interested in this game until now, 2 hours before the KS is over. I have thoughts about picking up the 35$ pledge, just to get all the rewards, the game and getting into the beta. Again, right now I am not interested, but it feels like I will regret it later. I mean, maybe this will be a big game in my life, when it comes out. Hmm, what to do, what to do?
open world pvp + not earning your skills = no thanks
time based exp is just silly to me, completely non-immersive with no logic to it whatsoever. How this can be a foundation of a game is beyond me. Yes, I know EvE uses it as well. I just hope this 'feature' goes no further.
This scares me, because if this fails it could be an end to Pathfinder. The game is very very unlike dnd in design. A lot of rpg industry writers, freelancers and artists aren't supporting this product, it's too anti dungeons and dragons. Why not just make a game, no big overall story but small adventurers where you band together in a cooperative role playing game... u know dnd.

Here's a list of D&D game designers working on Pathfinder Online!
Ed Greenwood the creator of D&D Forgotten Realms.
Kieth Baker creator of D&D Eberron Campaign setting.
Frank Mentzer creator of countless D&D adventure paths.
Rich Baker game designer for 3rd Edition D&D, game designer for 4th Edition D&D.
Just to name a few... Can you tell which D&D game designers or creative writers are openly not supporting Pathfinder Online?
I write in the industry, so i'm not going to put people out there, but notables would be wolfgang baur, monte cook (the actual designer and 3.5) and skip williams. And there's a ton more. It's not knocking the game. Sandbox is not dnd. If you honestly can say that this description is AnY dnd game you've ever played i'll write you a check for my life's savings. This sucks ,because pathfinder is a great system, and should be reflected, not used as a means to push a fantasy teabagging fest . No one wants this game to fail, but we know that if it does its bringing down pathfinder as the game with it, a horrible thing to do considering 5th edition is just around the corner.
Now, if paizo had said, we're going to actually make a game based on our system, that is one where i get together with friends and go out and adventure throughout hte land it wold be awesome. But piss fests between teenager built cities doesnt sound all that fun. nor does it sound like anything that's not out there.

Because.. if that's the guy you are talking about.. he sure has a strange way of making a public stance against the game...but I'm sure we should take your secret insider knowledge over what is publicly posted on the damn kickstarter FrontPage right?
Sandbox is not D&D? Wow... I can't think of anything more wrong than that. Well, other than saying that the guy who's picture is on the kickstarter page and is openly not supporting it...
Edit to add: Oh yeah i just checked and the company this guy runs (Kobold Press) also donated a book to the CROWDFORGER PDF SUPERPACK for the Kickstarter. Yup, sounds like he is very outspoken against the game...

Depends on the DM, but even then, what you do in a tabletop session tends to be limited to the path laid out in the campaign or adventure, and while DMs won't disallow most things, they manipulate the game and encourage enough where sandbox experiences don't happen. It's just not the way the game is played. You don't sit around crafting or building houses or pvping each other.

Do you PvP people in yoru own group? Likely not (although I have had that happen).
Do you fight bandits who attack you on the road? Absolutely.. the only difference is that in the PFO game those bandits might actually be players instead of GM controlled NPCs. Go to buy something from a player market? Well it's all the same except its actual players selling their wares instead of the GM controlling some blacksmith NPC...

Sure you can...
The Kingmaker Player’s Guide is intended to provide context for creating characters from the nation of Brevoy or surrounding regions who wish to play a role in the Stolen Lands’ transformation. In this campaign, your characters will explore vast wildernesses and settle them, build cities and nations, and even fight wars against opposing kingdoms. Many of these unusual campaign elements are supported by additional rules that appear in other volumes of the Kingmaker Adventure Path—your GM can provide you with the information you need to explore, build, conquer, and war as the need arises in each adventure. As a special preview, some of these elements are presented at the end of this guide so you have all of the blank forms and hex paper you need to track your adventures and achievements in the Stolen Lands.

I Agree, Pathfinder is about a small and strategic group of players ,It souds odd to male it "sandbox" Sure most DM's can let the players stray away from it's path and do "other" stuff ea build houses , move the lawn etc etc..but it would quickly become boring.
I guess D & D Online got that right, but on the other hand In that game the quests is played so many times it becomes silly instead..
I think it is a hard nut to crack, only time will tell if this project turns out any good..We will see
I understand the Table Top RPG community being concerned about it, I get it all but what I don't get is why they think making a sandbox mmo will have any effect on them.
As you can see with the TT super dungeon " Emerald Spire" it's already benefiting them.
This mmo is being developed a supported by some of the most legendary RPG game designers and creative writers.
A fantasy MMO being designed by legends of the RPG community ( finally) is nothing short of just pure awesomeness!
I think anyone that has an issue with Pathfinder Online should just come out and say it!

very happy about this indeed, I was afraid it wouldnt make it
Won't lie... I was worried for them with this.
As a long time PF/ Paizo fanboy I am happy right now. There is a long way to go yet though... we shall see.
Estimated delivery... 2016 *cries*
