PVP idea

Alright, I have an idea for FFXI. World of Warcraft's instanced "Battlegrounds" could be implemented to FFXI, but it could still use the Ballista rules. There would different arenas where people would have to make a group consisting of everyone in their country (Windurst, San'doria or Bastok) and have ballista matches whenever they want to, instead of the scheduled times. These would not count towards anything, just for fun. However, you would be able to get special titles from these to show your patronage for your country. Items displaying your country's flag would also be given out, such as hats, tunics, etc.

Players would be able to sit in the stands and watch the matches if they do not want to compete. The arenas would be in Bastok, Sandoria or Windurst.

What do you guys think?

    i wish more people were into pvp. a shadowbane style game that was better implemented would be a great thing.

    That would be cool, but i think they have a sort of pvp like that in the game, but i cant be sure. But what would be really cool imo, is if they have pvp between the three countrys. If you could go and capture control points and fight over them and such. Get in groups to go and fight other groups. It would be awesome.

    well you have to take into account that some people would rather the game be pure PVE which is why I think it should be guild vs guild combat (each guild can only have players from a certain country. ie.- a guild with Sandorian's in it cant invite Windurstians)
    The guilds will fight for control over the zones (like you said) but it will only add contribution points so that PVE players can still contribute by killing monsters.
