Lookin' for a new game

Long time reader, first time poster.

So, as you can tell from the screen name, I didn't cotton to the new changes that SOE/LA said that we said we wanted and, as a result, accounts were cancelled, windows were busted, bridges were burned, you get the picture.  So, I am currently shopping around for a new MMORPG.  My only other experience with the genre of games has been Matrix Online but, let's face it, SOE can screw up the second coming of Christ if they were allowed to handle it.

Any recommendations from players here?  I've been currently looking at City of Heroes/Villains and WoW since some RL friends are playing it.

Well, thanks.

If you came from SWG and MxO, those games are going to be way too shallow. City of Heroes gets real old once you get out of the character creation screen and WoW seems to have been designed for very young children. Never played Guild Wars, but the level cap at 20, mission system and... just about everything I've heard about it sound pretty lame.

I'm not too fond of theese more or less "regular" (as it has become), pack and stack points games...

I like roleplaying, and a bit more advanced games. Tho, this game I will suggest has neither gone gold or is the easiest. I mean, you kind of need to think too play it. (I'm not flaming anybody. I'm serious.)

The game is in development by Mojang Specifications, and is called Wurm. It got a nice community and great developers. You can talk to them 'bout anything, and they listen to your critizism if there is something. I mean, if you do tell them nicely.

Nice people, nice gameplay, nice tech-tree, and more.

You can check out Wurm (Here, at MMORPG.com) or http://www.wurmonline.com.

Well, I like it. :) I'm "Lolindir" there. In case you try it out.

    Hey guys,

Thanks for the advice.  I think, what I plan on doing is research the 3 games you mentioned.  I picked up a copy of Guildwars since it's free to play, I'll check out my buddy's copy of WoW, and I'm currently reading up on Wurm as I type this.

    Thanks again for the tips.
