Personally I'm not in favour of F2P or B2P. Well I am
" src="http://static.zenimax.com/forums.bethsoft.com/public/style_emoticons/default/wink.png" /> but I found the inevitable addition of a cash shop so the people that buy some extra can get privileges and things in-game (after all, why else would they pay) that others can't always very counter-immersive. This can range from buying gold (EVE, GW2) to just cosmetics (mounts, minipets).
Furthermore I'd say that if a company's income comes directly from the number of subscribers, it would push developers into making more and better content and keep the game enjoyable. Instead of inventing all kinds of stuff to redirect people to the cash shop.
You what would you choose?

I chose "other" as i can't really form an opinion until the companies doing B2P becomes a bit more varied, they'll all do it differently. It seems like a good option right now but once it becomes more widespread that may change.
Doesn't realy matter though, the revenue model doesn't play a factor in whether i'd play a game or not.

I'm not afraid to tell trolls what they [need] to hear, even if that means for me to have an forced absence afterwards.
P2P LOGIC = If it's P2P it means longevity, overall better game, and THE BEST SUPPORT EVER!!!!!(Which has been rinsed and repeated about a thousand times)
Common Sense Logic = P2P logic is no better than F2P Logic.
Yeah this. If you are charging a sub, you shouldnt have a cash shop. Double dipping just pisses people off.
Annoyed the hell out of me that EQ2 spent more time generating interesting looking items for the cash shop, while they still required a subscription fee. Its just rude. If you are charged a monthly fee you expect that you have access to everything in the game.
Really? I don't find the option to buy gold for RL money a very good or immersive mechanic.
I'd definitely rather have a subscription!

BTP + cash shop like Guild Wars 2 did.
It´s perfect.
Oops you're right! :x
Disappointing though that people actually want cash shops.

Buy to play because its already a fact that many mmo's can survive with that payment type if they do a good job.
That in my oppinion makes subscription model useless and probably unfair.
Edit: Also considering the economic situation of many countries, Saving 15$/€ monthly helps a lot for some people.
Subscription, for obvious reasons. I dont mind paying 30-50 cents a day to support a game i like.
But while on the subject of pay models...
F2P- "Free" to play isnt really "free" and should be labeled "Subscription free game". Because there is no such thing as "free" in this market, not if you want all the bells and whistles. It gives you the option to play with limitations and most times hurt your chatacters experience. Sure you can play free, but you will never be on the same level as a paying person. THen people whine and call it pay to win.
B2P has been around a long time before GW's saga. Its no different than a console game or single player game you pay up front for and play when you want to. FPS, RTS< Strategy, rpg, etc.. Nothing new here, but people think this is the holy savior of mmo's lol.
Cash shops.......... hate them, think its really horrible to charge outrageous prices for items and some games are really really bad with their cash shops, sometimes starting out with cosmetics and then going more into other things to gain more profit often leaving the game feeling heap and pay to win.
I find people wanting subscriptions (the grim reaper of MMOs) more disappointing. B2P is the way to go for ESO.

I will NEVER subscribe to another MMO again. Period. I dont care what the IP is, who the company is, or how good the game is.
The subscription model was created and fed to us with lies about bandwidth costs, its been PROVEN its a lie and that companies can make massive profits without it...and now the subscription model is even coming with cash shops or cash shop like items like in WoW. Companies see the extra money that can be made with them, so now they will start charging for a sub, and still bring in cash shops/items.
No thank you. As long as there are quality B2P and F2P games I see even less a reason to get suckered by a subscription game.

Eve has it right. If your game is good enough you only need subs. When I see increased box price and no sub,I fear quick cash grab.
