i played coh for a while its ok really depends on what you like
same for swg it's hard to give info on play style now that they doing a revamp.
if you gonna try tho i would jus go buy the starter kit it will probly have all the back exp like total exp did
other thing i say this is if you on 56k a dl of the game is a total pain like a few week's pain.
I'd like to ask a serious question here:
Given the major complaint with SOE that they change things way too dramatically too quickly and by default screw their playerbase, why in the hell would anybody want to go to City of Villains? LOL
Cryptic has been NOTORIOUS for the bait and switch. The massive nerfs, the major changes. They have had almost as many changes in a year and a half as SWG.
I think people are either just crazy, or are masochists.
CoV is due for tremendous changes in the next 3 months. It's going to be nerfed right into the gutter. Why would you want to attempt to build a persistent character under those conditions?

CoH has had, for the most part, adjustments to the scale of powers based on the game being too easy. Which it was, to be honest. That, plus the recent enhancement changes (using more than three of same type of the most powerful type of enhancement now gives little benefit, compared to using a different type of enhancement).
I guess those are the massive nerfs you're talking about. I'm not sure what the major changes would be, unless you're talking about the new zones and powersets that have been added. For free, I might add, unlike with SWG.
Whereas with SWG, we've had the fundamental nature of the game system changed (e.g. levels shoved in with the CU), and we're now having entire professions removed.
Not really the same is it?
