Is this still worth getting?

Right, i have 475 hitpoints on fileplanet to purchase this but i was wondering if it's worth it and if enough people are stil playing? I played the trial for like 10 minutes but didn't like it as i am not used to point and click, is it worth sticking with this game and giving it another chance? Is it noob friendly?

Thanks.

it has the best PvP setting ever in any mmorpg, but the game itself is so stiff and annoying to control, the graphics suck and the game is overall just an annoyance to play. I would love to see a game like WoW with a PvP setting like Shadowbane... but shadowbane itself is not worth it.

I wouldn't say it's noob friendly, but I think it's worth playing until you reach level 50 (r5), or not at all.   Once you reach level 20 you get sent out to the mainland, where it's open pvp, so you need to watching for griefers.  Once you reach about level 50 you'll be able to fight back reasonably.  Join a guild as soon as possible (turn on the "looking for guild" setting).  For a new player I would recommend a healer crusader (tough to kill, nuker/healer) or a rogue bow huntress (very fast, pet helps you level).  Vindication and Redemption are the biggest servers right now.

I have a Neph. Wizzard on Vind. The Wizzy. pets are good, one GMed is level 50, and the other is level 60. GMed You have to put 40 points in one, 10 in the other. I chose a Neph. for flying, Wizzies have no fly spell, I hear huntress pets are good to, I never looked though. One word of advice don't train mage bolt, wait till level 3 to train blood boil.

Its open combat. You can lose weeks worth of work in 1 bane. You can strike back at them and do the same thing, if you have an army that can do it.

All and all, its the best open combat game pvp game on the market. Dont come here thinking its easy, or that you will get to kill that l33t dragon for uber items. You come here to kill people, or conquer there nation. Dont expect eye candy, tho the avatars look better than WoW avatars imo. Hate cartoons.

I figured I'd give SB another go so I signed up again on monday. I am working on an old temp I was working on before I left about a year ago.

LA Throw Templar...don't laugh, it will work!  image

Anyways, I'm on vindication and I'm looking for a guild to join. Please let me know if anyone is recruiting. Thanks!

I can't believe anyone would want to advance this game.  It started out with 6 worlds, is now down to 4 and it used to have as many as 1500 per world on prime time, now down to maybe 200 people on.   Like walking around on a deserted island.  The grind to level for a noob is just plain foolish and no it's not noob friendly.  IT HAD ALL THE BEST GOING FOR IT AND IT IS NOW DYING.  No sense in being a noob then gettin booted to mainland where you will be killed by the 200 bored players over and over.   Face it, they have nothin else to do but kill lowbies.   I would not reccomend this game.

I feel it is if your into pvp.
    here just another movies.
If you notice the battlle is long and alot of hp damage and healing going on alot spells sieges engines fireing and not much lag. The numbers are low but hell of lot of fun. Ill see if i can find some old recording of old fights just to show the seer numbers at some of the sieges and lag beeing very low.

I will agree that SB is the only game that HAD decent pvp but, there are no enough peeps on to make it worthwhile now.  If you are just starting out, with no friends in game, your pvp  will be little or none for awhile--first you have to get to a R5 or higher to be effective at anything AND you have to be able to equip your toon to the inth which is not easy since the costs for equip are so high (mirrors real life lol).  You also have to have the time to "learn" your toon, or rather how best to play it.  Then, if you are lucky you may run into a few mine wars which only last minutes,  VERY few sieges anymore, guild wars are non-existant, that is if you can find a guild that recruits now.  Yes yes, some do but they are picky who they take in, got to be the best.  I was on last night for 5 minutes and was less then 100 on Lore-Vindication, maybe a bit more on Mourning.  ACTUALLY, they have one city they use for pvp town cause there is so little going on in the rest of the world.   Really, if its less then 500 people on line you will not have a chance to play the game as it was intended.  It has been going downhill for 2 years.  UBI does very little advertising for the game which doesn't help.  The cheaters and exploiters have made the game a grind.  The filth and foolishness in the chats is not to be believed.  You can turn them off but then you will be like in solitary.  Funny, on Mourning there is almost NO chat going on lol.  Not enough people.  But if you dont mind wasin your $$ then by all means try it.  If it had a chance to make it, I would stay but that will not happen.  MY Ihmo.
